Have you decided to have a boy or girl?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Oh come on op! You're getting total strangers on the Internet to pick your baby's name!

    Think about this.
Is this a wise thing to do?

Poll is up now, We know its a boy. One of the names is my fav and one is my husbands and one we both are warming to, but we cannot decide.

So you're getting strangers on the Internet to decide?

Seriously op, what are you at?!

This is not a good idea.

Some day your son will find out that you let strangers on the Internet decide his name.

There are some things you just have to decide for yourself.

awh come on its is just a bit of fun.. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Why don't you just wait until your baby is born and see what name suits him best rather than getting strangers on the Internet name your child.

Also the title of your thread....it has not "come to this". Just have some more discussions between yourself and your husband.

    Colin Brennan
And my reasons for picking Colm:

Oscar - while a deadly name, is the name of my Cocker Spaniel dog.

Colin - while a lovely name is kinda like Colm but its not

Colm - cos its my favourite name for a boy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12 Filippa K

    nothing serious..:)

    She wasn't serious. It's a joke thread.

Thank god! Who would seriously ask people on the Internet to choose their baby's name.

Probably. I've a friend Osgur and he one of the sweetest guys around. :)

Colm and Colin are really boring names.

Sorry- but had to come on here-joke or not(I hope joke)

Both colin and colm sound too like a part of the body- colon-I hope you know what this does?????
    And Oscar is plain......wilde.(get it?)

Wait until he is born and it'll come to you.
And we'll forgive you for the thread, blame the hormones etc.......

Pick a name that compliments Brennan not contrasts with it !

What is wrong with all of you? She isn't getting the internet to decide her babys name, They like all three but just need some opinions on which one to choose. So what?

And now the OP has been pushed into saying it was a joke thread by some very condescending posts when i know it wasn't a joke thread to start with.

    Colm btw.

Jaysus it`s anonymous so you personally aren`t naming someones child!! It`s hardly any different to me asking 20 friends opinions on my shortlist is it?

I vote for Oscar but there are quite a few dogs with that name, Colin and Colm are fierce boring!!

To the ppl being rude about this thread - ease off! What's it to you how anyone names their child!! Us it's only 3 options!! I think it's harmless fun and if the op likes the result then it will cement their feelings!!! If they do t like the answer they can just ignore it! I think it's fun :)
I like Oscar the best!! It's a strong and cool name... I also like Austin which is completely irrelevant as its not on the list but there ya go!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90 ✭✭sailordog13

    Oscar !!
I wanted Oscar as 2nd choice for my sons name, (first choice was taken by neighbouring close friend, by pure coincidence !).
I think its a strong independent sounding name.
I could see Oscar Brennan being abbreviated to Obi (Wan Kanobi) in the school yard !
Thats a cool handle to have !!

Missus wouldn't have Oscar though, said it sounded like a dogs name.... :(

Yeah sorry if it offends you but I jut don't like it okay. I just don't like having a poll and (to quote the op) "and the names with the most votes win".

Me personally I think choosing a child's name is more important than that. Sorry that you disagree.

I'd go with Oscar, it goes well with the surname. Both Colin and Colm are a bit cumbersome to say with Brennan.

I can kind of understand your dilemma, it is hard to pick.

If the baby is born a girl you will tell us?ppleaassee?;)

I like Oscar as it is from celtic mythology and I like Colin.

Wait until you see the baby to decide:)

    *mod note*
