Just wondering if anyone uses anything to help reduce aches and pains in the muscles with a hot bath, or if anyone has any techniques on how to avoid this.

I heard of using epsom salts in a hot bath, anything else?

just not being totally fit in general!

you know the feeling, you play a bit of five a side or whatever and you can hardly walk up the stairs at work the next day!

There's loads of things you can try: foam rolling, contrast showers, massage, low intensity cardio the day after something strenuous, stretching etc....

But ultimatly it's a matter of your body getting used to a higher activity level. Contrast showers and foam rolling ease the pain for me.

I used to use ice packs on my legs after hard runs.

Until some study found that there wasnt any benefit in reducing injury.

A large handful of epsom salts in the bath or A.Vogel Athro Bath Oil.
I use a grid roller for IT Band and back probs. Ice straight after exercise also works for me.
