are you being honest there with your diet ?? If you are only eating 1300 calories a day you should be losing a fair bit of weight (not to mention being completely starving!). How long are you at this ?

Some people might say to drop all the carbs (i.e. pasta) for veg or whatever - but if you are coming in way under in terms of calories, and you are eating protein with every meal, i wouldn't be too worried about that personally.

    fair play to you.

other people with much more knowledge will come along and give you some proper advice i'm sure.

in the mean time, all i'd say is that your diet looks pretty healthy. i'm surprised its only 1300 calories - i know you're not eating a huge lot - but you are eating a few meals a day. if you're not starving keep it up. i dont think you'd need to be as low as 1300 calories though (assuming you've counted accurately) - especially if you are doing any sort of exercise.

vegetables are good. i know when i was 15 i wasn't too keen on them, but if you can manage it, get some into you. there's a 'stickie' thing on the top of the page on diet and there's a video there from a guy called transform - he pretty much tells you what you should be eating - well worth a look.

i think the main thing with diets is to try and have one that is sustainable in the longer term. In other words, don't go 1300 calories a day if you're starving and fall off the wagon in a few weeks - better to be up around 1800 or 2k calories if you are more likely to be happy to stick with that for a few months.

    ha ha ha.

my FIRST question was were you being honest.

a banana would have over 100 calories for example. fruit is also full of sugar.

try and swap SOME of your fruit for portions of veg.

you have said your main meal is chicken and pasta. now its veg. and loads of fruit has appeared.

i'm not having a go - fair play to you and stick at it - but if you are counting calories, count ALL of them !! good man. you are up closer to 2k calories than 1300 I'd bet (which is still fine and more like what you should be at if you're looking to lose a bit of weight).

Is the 1 cup of pasta, cooked or uncooked? If its 100g uncooked weight then its more than 1300

    Breakfast:2 poached eggs 150cals
Lunch:1 cup brown rice 350cals,150g tuna in water 150cals
Dinner:200g chicken breast 250cals,2 cup wholegrain pasta 700cals
Snack:small tin of tuna in water 75cals

    Total 1675 cals

Plus the 7 pieces of fruit a day, in addition to the veg he's not bothering to account for at dinner!

Okay, so he made a small mistake - he's 15.

Marcus, give a breakdown of your diet again there, remember to include EVERYTHING you consume including fruit, veg, softdrinks, orangejuice etc.
