    Hi guys,
I hope this is the right forum, couldn't decide which was the most suitable so mods feel free to move it.
Simply as the title says, is running making my thighs bigger? they are no necessarily more toned, just seemed wider, heavier and more muscle. or I am paranoid and this is all in my head?

    No is the simple answer.

You could lose body fat that could make them look more muscular however.

Measure them now and after a month of hard training and see if they get bigger, or smaller. I doubt they are getting bigger though. How is your weight doing? And your other stats?

You are probably experiancing an increase in glycogen storage in leg muscles in response to an increase in energy demand. This will make them feel fuller.
This effect generally peaks soon after starting running.
don't worry you arnt going to end up tree thrunk legs from a bit of jogging, if you want that you're going to have to start squatting heavy.

I find if I do lots of running my legs tend to get bigger! I have quite big quads and I find when I'm cutting my legs keep growing rather than get smaller like the rest of my body. I know a few guys in my gym experience this also.
Perhaps its because I'm quite a heavy guy that when I run there is lots of weight for my legs to move! I dont really mind anyway but theres my 2 cents!

What kind of running? look at a marathon runners legs and compare with a sprinters.
