Programme about gay footballers and the problems they face is on BBC3 at 9pm.

With all the attention on racism recently this is a timely documentary on what seems to be taboo among football clubs.

I expect Liverpool to be outed as the leaders of the homophobic agenda in world football by the end of this show.

What did he say? I'm pretty sure that John has repeatedly said that he's sorry for his initial reaction to his brother's sexuality.

TBH I'm switching over to Frontline now, but yeah I'd watch it all otherwise.

They were talking about it on off the ball a few months ago, they said a group which was the equivalent to "kick it out" wanted some footballers to head a campaign. Everyone refused.

He said that he has to deal with the consequences now that he's come out, and if he was his team mate he wouldn't want to get in the showers with him etc.

As a Liverpool fan I certainly do.

It was aimed at Le Saux.

I still fail to see what it proves in context of the post you quoted.

It was an idiotic thing to do. I completely agree. It doesn't mean Liverpool are a homophobic club

It's a real shame. I remember reading that some interest group wanted gay players to come out and speak out against homophobia but TBH, a campaign with the likes of Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney speaking out against it would be much more effective. I think a message carries much more weight if people don't think you have any vested interest in it.

Prove? What the hell are you talking about? Do you really think I posted that to prove that Liverpool were homophobic? Get a grip seriously.

    IT. Was. A. Joke.

Christ the whole Suarez thing has made you lot a fair bit touchy these days

No need for all the full stops. I can read without them.

My point was it was a bad joke.

    The Suarez thing is irrelevant.

Homophobia is a bigger problem in Football IMO

A bad joke performed by Fowler.

    Seriously, lighten up though.

It's weird, don't know one football fan who has a problem with gays and I've never heard any concerted or continuous anti-gay chanting at a match either. Forget Brighton games that’s all done in jest anyways.

But yet I still wouldn’t blame any gay footballer for staying in the closet.

Might be a few who make it known when they retire, it would be easier that way. No chance of it affecting their career then.

There are some good opportunities for some creative book titles, my favourites being 'the back pass age' and 'the hard tackle'.
