Can anyone recommend some good reading material.

I want to get into a more positive mind frame and push harder while training.

Books that can help with running, gym excerise, eating habits, toning the body etc

    Thanks :)

I read a book called Bounce by Matthew Syed over Christmas....taught it was very good now! Really helped motivate me for the gym and training. Couldn't recommend it higher to be honest...

It mightn't be what you are looking for but I found "its not about the bike" by Lance Armstrong very motivational. Damn interesting read too.

    Beyond Brawn - Stuart McRobert

Awaken the Giant Within - Tony Robbins

The Fighter's Mind - Sam Sheridan

    Influence - Robert Cialdini

If your not motivated to train after those books I don't know what will motivate you!

    All excellent books.

Having a read of that Tal Ben-Shahar book, Happier, Transform recommended last week. Have to say, so far, very enjoyable. Thanks for the heads up, would never think of picking up an Observer, always pick up at copy of the FT at weekend.

I have his book. Really is excellent. Goes into the science of conditioning well and gives great advice on things such as periodization for MMA training.

I got mine off his site, can't remember seeing it on Amazon. You might be able to pick up a pdf version off a torrent site? Not that I condone that sort of thing ;)

Can't find it on amazon, and his site doesn't appear to want to work for me. Could be a region thing.
I'd be fine with a PDF, could plus away on the iphone. But can't even buy legal PDFs.

What URL are you using? Tried going in via 8weeksout.com?

    Yeah, treid 8weeksout too.

I get as far as the page withe the general info, adn the "add to cart" button. But when I click that it freezes up.
The URL of the button is from https://eza.infusionsoft.com/
I'm guessign thats the site that processes the orders, and the one causing me issues. It's liek the site is blocked, "IE cannot open this page" type messages

Perhaps you could try opening it with Firefox or Google Chrome?

Gerry Duffys book 'who dares runs'...I thought it was a great read and drew a lot of inspiration from it.. If a 17st guy living a sedentary lifestyle can get to fitness levels which allow him to do 32 marathons in 32 days or 10 ironmans in 10 days anything is possible with the right frame of mind.
