I used one of these season bags last week and threw chicken breasts and a load of veg into it....it was delicious!!!

Just wondering though if they are ok to use (weight loss is the aim!!) .....the nutrition info afaik was roughly 300kcal per 100g. Each packet is between 20 and 30g. That seems alot for seasoning???

Would I be better using the turkey bags you can get and throwing in my own blend of spices?

    300? what's in them?

I looked one up online and found this
    http://www.mccormick.com/Products/Seasoning-Mixes/Bag-n-Season/Bag-n-Season-Chicken.aspx

MALTODEXTRIN, SALT, POTATO STARCH, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, PAPRIKA, SPICES (INCLUDING WHITE PEPPER AND RED PEPPER), ONION, HYDROLYZED CORN GLUTEN, YEAST EXTRACT, CITRIC ACID, GARLIC, SUGAR, DISODIUM INOSINATE AND DISODIUM GUANYLATE (FLAVOR ENHANCERS), TURMERIC, EXTRACTIVES OF PAPRIKA, AND NATURAL FLAVOR.

Personally anyway I would say yes, make your own - there'd be a lot less salt then

You don't even need to spend the money on turkey bags,
I use a small square roasting dish - throw in a chicken fillet, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers a teeny drop of water and spices/herbs. Cover dish tightly with tin foil - shiny side down and cook on a low heat. Does the same thing as the bags cooking by 'steaming'.

Yeah but I'm really weird I hate touching raw meat or touching it with utensils
Where can I buy these turkey bags I have never seen them

Will go look in the cling film isle, also need to buy spices for chicken. bok bok.
