    current-liverpool-crest.jpg .v. 200px-Manchester_United_FC_crest.svg.png

For Liverpool, it's the 2nd of 2 big cup games in 4 days, and the 2nd of 3 games in 8 days.

For United, even though there's been more rest due to Liverpool's cup commitments, they have plenty of injuries, and as a result, Liverpool, at Anfield, should really go into the game as slight favourites.

that, and Ferguson has been gloriously brain-farting this fixture for a couple of years now. keep it up Fergie :D

    Possible Line-Ups:

    Pep
    Kelly
    Agger
    Skrtel
    Enrique
    Spearing----Henderson
    Kuyt
    Gerrard
    Downing
    Carroll

    Lindergaard
    Rafael
    Smalling
    Evans
    Evra
    Valencia
    Carrick
    Scholes
    Park
    Rooney

    Welbeck

and people, don't kill each other please.

IMO Rooney won't start, Carrick might not start and Nani & Jones are out.

I don't even want to think about the starting 11. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Pogba start.

No Suarez for the bad guys. Thank God, he torments us!

    Andy Carroll hat trick. ;)

Can't see a Liverpool win here after the midweek match for the reds against City. I''l say 1-3 to United with one player sent off from each side.

Bellamy shirley can't play to that level so soon again? If he plays at all.

If he does start, he won't complete more than 70/75 mins, and then get replaced by Carroll - at that stage Liverpool would want to be hoping to be a goal or two to the good.

    Cant see Bellers starting.

But Big Andy should be able to bully the likes of Evans and Smalling at CB.

Will be hard for Liverpool to up their game to wednesdays level again, but the sight of a United shirt will definitely motivate. As a LFC fan Im hoping for a relatively easy win (which will never happen!!) so score draw I think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,886 ✭✭✭MoscowFlyer

Yeah, I think I remember hearing it's virtually impossible for Bellamy to start B2B games in this short space of time. His knees aren't up to it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Team for me

    Reina
    Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Johnson
    Hendo-Spearing
    Maxi----Shelvey----Downing
    Carroll

Subs, Doni, Carra, Enrique, Adam, Kuyt, Gerrard, Bellamy

I'd nearly be tempted to give some of the kids a gambol but as much as Fergie would be fuming at the implied disrespect there is a chance Liverpool can win this so I have insurance on the bench.

    lol mike, Stevie will start.

And like Wednesday will ping hollywoods at Carroll, they'll bounce off him and end up back in the midfield.

Comfortable win for Utd, Wednesday will have taken a lot out of pool and I dont think they have the squad depth to cope.

Bold Predictions: Stevie Me to get an early bath, he will want to set down a marker. He tried on Weds and got a yellow but I feel he might go more over the top vs Utd and walk for it.

Scholes to follow for 2 yellows at some stage.

    Super Andy Carroll!

a comfortable win for Utd? At Anfield? with mountains of injuries?....is not a bold prediction?

    fascinating.

Jim poor fella has to make that sort of prediction having seen his superstars soundly outplayed and beaten in the League Cup by a Liverpool starting 11 containing Coates, Kelly, Carra, Maxi, Spearing and Carroll!

Even bolder a prediction as I will be there, and the team have a very good record against United with me in the ground. :D

United to score first, but Liverpool to win.

Should be a good game. Liverpool should be on top form and another display like Wednesdays (without conceding those soft goals) should see us through.

Gutted I'm going to miss it. Gotta play a game myself.

Welbeck to score in front of the kop and point to his shirt number in celebration. Evra to score an 88th minute own goal to level it up before blatantly diving to win a penalty in the 96th minute after 3 minutes of injury time were added. Evra takes and scores penalty.

    Please make it happen, Jebus.

3-1...Andy Carroll hat-trick and a Carra own goal. Hopefully Jelavich gets a run out.

What an unrealistic dream, did you not just see the video of Andy Carroll training in the posts beforehand.

    Evra to get the winner!

Fairly certain United will win this by a goal. Going to stick my money on Liverpool 1 - 2 United.

100% sure we will see a lot of changes for this game, I'd put money on Berba and Hernandez up front. Nani, Rooney, Carrick and Jones won't start. Park will be in there along with Scholes, Valencia, Fabio and wouldn't be too surprised to see Pogba or Morrison starting.

im guessing he was joking with the as long as he gets abused bit..

no doubt though that both he and anton ferdinand in the other match will get booed even though they were the ones given the abuse. Anyway, lets try talk about the football instead

I reckon a home win is in the cards. Pool are rightly fired up for this one and have a nack of putting in good performances against the top teams. I cannot see all 22 players finishing the game. Pool to sneak it 2-1.

Should be a cracking match tomorrow. Neither side will want a draw so i'd expect a free-flowing, attacking game.

I'll be optimistic and go for a 2-1 win for Liverpool, but really anything could happen. It'll be interesting to see how we cope after the City game. It will almost definitely be difficult for Bellamy to play so soon, which means a probably start for Andy Carroll - massive game for him if he does start

He should get abused because he is a very unpleasant chap.

Looking forward to this one.It will be very tight and we (Utd) are missing key players.I hope and think the mid week game will take it out from Liverpool we must just be fresher 1-2 Utd if we keep our heads.Any word on Rio and Rooney?

Its a long time since Utd won at Anfield. Given the players missing, I think they'll struggle tomorrow. This isn't a great Liverpool team but this is the poorest Utd team in 10 years in my opinion.
