    This evening.

    It was rotton.

It went up and around the two sets of wheels.

Now I cant sleep thinking about it.

I need after hours advise on how to deal with this.

If the Larry was an articulated chap you think they could have solved their differences without resorting to violence.

That's awful! & not just the jokes!
That happened to my dog ( car not Artic) & I saw it happen; I still get the horrors thinking of it. Unbelievably she got up & staggered away with huge bruising & a grazed " ankle. No-one could believe it.
Maybe part two of your dogs story had a happy ending : )

Just be glad it was a dog that got squished & not a person. You'd never sleep again.

I think the term 'squished' is fairly insensitive.

Does that mean he should only be worried about the worse possible outcome? Maybe if it was his family under the wheels might upset him more?
Then again, there's worse things going on in the world than some random persons family getting killed.
If we all could only get upset about the worse thing that could happen wwe would be worse than we are now.

Aaw:that's awful. Don't worry; unlike people dogs go straight to heaven!!! It's all gbe love they give for free to everyone they meet. Its poor owner will be distraught thou. Also : (
At least you know it was quick; with an Artic. Poor yoke didnt have much of a chance : (

Here s a mad thing. I stopped at a crash involving cars & a dog & stayed with the dog who was lying there being affectionate & licking peoples hands quietly. We all thought maybe its leg was broken as it was lying on it's back holding it up & moving a bit. Georgous little dog. Later I asked how it was & was told it had huge internal injuries & had to put put to sleep. It was on such an adrenalin buzz from the crash that it dint feel the pain. Which is something. ( poor dog)

Maybe this dog also went out with a bit of surprise & a doggy buzz.

It's always the ones that are left behind that suffer!

( bet youll be careful stepping out in future in front of busses ;)

Poor animal :( at least it was quick from the sounds of it..

I hate seeing any animals dead on the road, with cats, you can sort of convince yourself it was feral or something, but with dogs, you can't help thinking that it was someone's beloved pet :(

    RIP doggy

A power-washer should take most of it off OP but you may want to use a wire brush to get right into the tyre treads. How early do you have to be back on the road?

I recall seeing a dog walk across the road ahead of me, so I had time to put on the brakes, but an oncoming range rover slowed down slightly and proceeded to roll over him and drive off. I immediately stopped to help as the dog limped to the side of the road, screeching in pain. I was pissed because not only did the range rover drive off, nobody else stopped to help.

I got out of the car and got a few beeps behind me for stopping and went after the dog who had gone into a ditch, but realised that the Childers Road in Limerick wasn't the safest spot to leave my car open. I jumped back into the car, drove home, grabbed a housemate and a bunch of towels and drove back to the same spot to look for him. Spent 10 mins searching but couldn't find any sign of him.

I really don't get how anybody could be cold enough to mortally injure an animal and drive off like nothing happened.

What amazes me is how so many animals get run over but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding number of humans.

It's odd how most people can avoid hitting people but not a dog.

    Op.

I want to tell you about the most wonderful place in the world: Doggie Heaven. In Doggie Heaven, there are mountains of bones, and you can't turn around without sniffing another dog's butt! And all the best dogs are there, Old Yeller, and about eight Lassies. :)

Nothing to do with the lack of road sense in animals?

I had a similar experience before, but the dog was lying on the road when an articulated truck's wheels went directly over the dog. I happened to be driving in the other direction, and passed by at the exact same time.

The wheels went over one end of the dog causing all the blood & guts to squirt out all over my car. Thankfully I had the windows closed at the time.

Seen it happen to a cat years ago.

Heard a short scream from the cat and i turned around in time to see it go around the wheel about 4 times. What has been seen can never be unseen....:(

As a Pet owner thats Sad

I guess the people who are taking the piss dont have Pets .

If you are taking the Piss and you have an Animal look at it and think of it keeling over and dropping dead now

The way you would feel about it is probably how the owner of that dog will feel when they find out

Repeat these lines for a half hour or so and you'll be grand.
