    Hi All

Can anyone recommend a non dairy protein powder/supplement? I am dairy intolerant which rules out whey & casein.

    Thanks

You can get some soy proteins. Most of them are nasty, but ON's strawberry soy protein is not bad. I believe there are some nice hemps around as well.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give soy a go. It's very awkward being dairy intolerant- I am amazed how often it is used in food products you would never think would contain any dairy!

Brown rice protein is another option. Also if you are just lactose intolerant you can buy lactase tablets to help

People who are dairy intolerant usually have a problem with lactose. That means milk and yogurt and soft cheeses, but you may be able to have butter and hard cheese and whey isolate.

And yes, I have a daughter with the same problem, so I know the hassle of reading every single label.

It's actually the fat content of milk( and fat associated proteins) that is the primary cause of the intolerant reaction. The clinic I got tested in strongly advised I also avoid beef because of the fat content
