    Hi All,

I am looking for some advice with regards getting set up as a personal trainer. To give some background here, I am currently working in the finance industry in the UK, but have a massive interest in health and fitness, and would like to acquire a qualification in the UK that will also be recognised and allow me to work as and be insured as a personal trainer in Ireland, as well as the UK. The route I'm currently looking to take is to get the "Level 2 QCF in fitness instructing" - http://www.cyq.org.uk/qualifications/qcf/l2-certificate-in-fitness-instructing-gym-based-exercise, and then the "Level 3 QCF in Personal Training" - http://www.cyq.org.uk/qualifications/qcf/l3-certificate-in-personal-training.

The first question I have is- does this look like a good route to go down, or can anyone suggest a better alternative (either in the UK or Ireland). I understand that much of the skills needed will be gained by face-to-face interactions, but I would like to get as much of it done as I can home studying, as I'll be doing this along with having a full time job.

Secondly, if I acquire the 2 qualifications above, am I now in a position to rent out a studio and hold group classes? Can I get insured, or are the other conditions, or qualifications I need to acquire?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
