Has anyone seen these at a wedding? How were they? Seriously thinking of booking them for my own big day in 2013. I think a decent band is very important at a wedding!
Would love The Marvels but they are unavailable on the day in question......

I can 100% vouch for Delorean, we had them at our wedding. It was ideal for us as we didn't want the usual "waltz" and slow song malarkey but really just wanted music we ourselves like :D. The floor was full all evening, everyone young and old including our grannies in their 80's. They're excellent musicians and really keep the atmosphere going. We've had so many comments since from the guests, I think the band was one of the highlights of their day.

They're always playing around the place so I recommend going to see them to see if they're your kind of thing.

I was at a wedding with them as the band and they were great. They kept a good crowd young and older on the dancefloor for the night.

Thanks for that. It's so hard to know so its great to get feedback!

Everyone was dancing from teenagers to my 85 year old granny so they definitely appeal to all age groups. However, you won't get the usual typical wedding stuff (sweet Caroline, siege of Ennis etc) but if thats what you want to avoid, its a win

Don't want typical wedding songs so that's great. Are they excellent though or is their better bands out there? Wish I could view them but they are not playing locally.

Are a lot of 80s songs not typical wedding songs? When you're looking at any band request a sample set list. They should be able to provide one if they dont have a website and you can request they exclude any particular song you wish.
Before you look for reviews, contact them and check if they're abailable and within budget, you're wasting your own time otherwise.
If you like them after viewing, book them, your search will never end if you continually look for better.

Anyone book without viewing? I won't b able c band as they only playing far away. Just relying on you tube clips for them!

Okay I saw delorean play at a wedding last night, they re amazing! Unbelievable! Only thing is they are loud and I'm not sure if they cater for my wedding as I've a lot of older people coming. I loved them though and wouldn't get off the dance floor if they re at my wedding.but nervous in case my relations won't dance to them!

    Anyone seen these recently?

Seen them last April, they were amazing, one of the best bands I've heard at a wedding, Had the "Firm" at my own last Month also excellent.

They are very good but the guy who manages them is very unreliable. He takes ages to get back to people and is a bit all over the place with information. That's why we didn't book them.

No show at a wedding in Galway 1/7/16

What happened? We have them booked for our wedding so that's very worrying!

Pro bands dont just not turn up. Very famous case of a woman on joe duffy one day giving out about a band not turning up. Manager of band rang in. Band had never been booked. Bride had thought they were but hdnt paid deposit and confirmed date which she was told she had to or else band wasnt booked "no show at a wedding" could mean anything without facts.
Ive No connection with band here.

Im not saying it was or wasnt, Im saying there has to be more to a story than just they didnt turn up. Theres multiple peoples livelihoods at stake, why would they just not turn up
    No deposit?
Someone on their end hadnt updated their diary?
    They double booked?
    Some Emergency?
    What was the reason?

Well they wouldn't answers calls/texts from the bridal party. Perhaps their manager messed up but no explanation given by the band.

Doubt they'll be booked in Galway any time soon as quite a few venue managers at the wedding

Ouch. I feel for ye on the night. Ive heard of bands being double booked and scrambling to get someone to cover one of the gigs and youll always grt someone but a lot would have to go wrong for a band to not turn up at all.
Had couple been in touch with band in preceding weeks to confirm details and first dances etc?

Jeez, people really lose the run of themselves when hiding behind a keyboard. I'm not talking about you, but the people posting on the Facebook page. Fair enough, if they didn't show up to the wedding that's a bad act but people calling them scum and threatening them physically is ridiculous.

Mod Note: This is a tricky issue, but without knowing the full details of what happened, I'm going to ask that people hold off on further discussing the above. It's all second- and third-hand information, and even with the best will in the world, it may be totally inaccurate.

If you have booked this band and are feeling concerned, you should contact them directly to confirm your booking.

Very silent on their Facebook page, you'd think they'd be all over it.

The band replied to a comment saying they'll be putting out a statement shortly.

Must be a very long statement.

Perhaps they've gone back to last Friday and they're on their way to Galway to do the gig. They'll open with Earth Angel for the first dance.

Seems to be a concerted social media campaign to "punish" the band without hearing their side of the story.

Obviously those at the wedding have ganged up against them.

What a lovely shower of wedding guests.

Guess what - if you ever are applying for jobs most companies do social media searches. Disgusting comments on social media never go away and come up to bite people.

For those worried, look at their overall performance - seems they've been gigging for years with great reviews - just like reading trip advisor or other review sites, always look at what the vast majority say.
