Got confused by the text which gave me a time way off the Garmin. :D

Chip time 37:02, delighted with that. Congrats to everyone, lovely mornings running.

I was so tempted to join Woddle on the grassy knoll. Worst race ever :(
A combination of poor breakfast choice, period and donating blood on Friday I reckon. Started feeling nauseous after the first half mile and kept having to pull in thinking I was going to vomit :( I had one good mile when it settled down but that was it. And then with 800m to go it felt like my left kneecap just went sideways and out of place. I pulled in several time and wiggled it around and ran a bit more but had to take it very gently.
Chip time 49:31 :( 6.5 mins behind plan.

Hope everyone is happy with their results. I found it tough going today with the wind but really enjoyed it all the same. My time was just over 48 mins which I'm happy enough with.

It was a nice race for beginners - with the large numbers I felt happy enough that I wouldn't be last and the club members I chatted to when picking up my race pack were really nice and encouraging. I thought the race was well-organised although it was a bit chaotic at the water/fruit stands afterwards. I really liked the refreshments though, thought the fruit was great and there was a lovely spread inside. The marshals did a great job too and several were really encouraging and called out the times. A goodie bag would have been nice but not a big deal. The tshirts look good although I haven't tried mine on yet. Well done to Sportsworld, I'll definitely do this race again!

Aw, that sounds like a wretched combination ... you're a real trooper for finishing, think I would have gone home! Hope that knee is ok and you're feeling better soon.

44.52, chuffed with that. Wanted under 50 as I'm only running a couple of months so really happy. Last km near killed me tho!

Nice race, really well organised, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great race, well done to all in Sportsworld, windy on the long straight sections & this took it's toll on times. Good grub in abundance after. :)

Thanks to everyone who ran today the event was a great success. Maybe a little too much so as the website has gone down. Please see the results on Chapionchip timing. We should be back online shortly. http://www.championchipireland.com/results/index.php

Miracle of miracles! There's a guy in the first video wearing headphones at the start, he hears the woman on the PA telling people to take out their headphones, and he takes out his headphones!
    Send him a spot prize!

There were plenty of headphoen wearers still around sadly, some with music on so loud I could easily hear it when near them

Thanks for the info on not getting the text. Apologies for this we will be doing a full review and making improvements for next year. Boards is a fantastic source of feedback.

Had a shocking last mile myself was on course for 5.20 miles and then ran a 6.05 for mile 4. Ouch!

Nothing to apologise for, it came through a few hours later and I was able to get the results here anyway! You and the rest of the club did a great job, it was a fab race.

Very enjoyable race. Well organised, good support, fantastic grub afterwards and good deal of money raised for the special olympics. It's a nice flat course but the wind made it tough today.

While it was a nice run, it was ruined for me by the fact I got no chip time :( signed up this morning at 10.30. Chip was clipped off at the end. Finished 36 gun time- pretty disappointed with the failings of technology! 25 euros, no t-shirt and no official time.

Really enjoyed the race and posted a good time with an age-related prize. Great organisation and super food. However, weird timing anomaly or 2. There appears to be at least one result on the results spreadsheet that is inconsistent with the video among the first 100 runners. Wonder if one or two of those still to finish the first lap were directed to the finish. Can't explain it otherwise.

Was it not advertised that t-shirts were only guaranteed for first 1,000 entries? They need to have an idea of numbers so as to avoid having a heap of t-shirts left over afterwards. If you left it til this morning to register then it really is nobody elses fault but your own for having to pay the extra €5 for late entry and not getting a t-shirt...

Fair enough about the chip timing issue but if you send them an email they may be able to help you out...sometimes there can be issues which take a day or two to resolve. Hopefully it works out for you.

just realised that there was probably a mix up of chips between runners, which would be the more likely reason.

Really enjoyed the race, felt almost like summer had finally arrived.
Theres definitely a bit of a mix up with the chip timing though because my race number has somebody else's name beside it and my name is beside a different number with a time nowhere close to my finishing time.
Will send a mail to the timing people.
Have been sick for the last while so this was my first run in months and had very little training under my belt so really pleased with my time of 39:15

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 309 ✭✭ChampionChip

I spotted the mix up once Eoin Brennan came in 3rd place but had Ann Killens number and chip so we were aware of a mix up at registration round that batch of numbers. I'm waiting to get the corrected list of entries so we can fix it up and re publish the results.

Yikes! Indeed you are correct-it was advertised. Oversight on my part. Apologies for that uninformed whinge. :o

Anyway, it appears I also fell victim to a chip mix up. I was bib 1139 and I got the time for 1137. Some M (50) thinks he came in in 35.53 and this F coulda sworn she did better than 50.10 :D

Wouldn't really bother me except I needed a sub 36 to use a qualifying time...

I just spoke to the lady at Teranure who has the correct data file and she will send it to me as soon as she gets home. It appears the data I got was out of sync for about the last 30 entries that were taken today. Its easy to fix once I get the data. If its not up tonight it will be in the morning.

Thanks to Sportsworld for putting on a great race today. Well organised, loads of volunteers (whose encouragement definitely helped me get my first sub-35, on home turf too), and brilliant, much appreciated spread afterwards.
    Cheers!

Great race today, really enjoyed it...despite the wind :), thanks to Sportsworld for organising a great event. What a turnout... wonderful to see so many people taking part and for such a good cause also. Congrats everyone

Results are now updated on www.championchipireland.com and will be shortly on the race web site. The bib numbers and names were out of sync by 2 places on the reg file I got for about the last 30 or so entries but it was easy fixed. I have also added in the last 20 or so finishers manually as we had to clear the road quickly to keep the guards happy but they are all in now.

Apologies for anyone who got a wrong time but it was outside my control but handled very efficiently by Aileen and her team.

If you did not get a text message contact me and I will check and see what the issue was. There were about 30 numbers that were rejected as they had insufficient digits to be correct. My software looks for 9 digits on an ROI mobile number counting from the right so forget about the leading zero, some numbers I got only had 8. I just checked and we delivered 621 texts out of 638 numbers we received in advance.

Great to see the efforts being made to remedy the chip timing results. However, my result appears incorrect still. It would appear I have received a clock time rather than a chip time as I measured my run at 24 seconds faster on my own watch compared to the chip time. It would appear that perhaps the start mat failed to pick me up as I started a bit back in the pack.

Anyone else still have this issue with their result?

    Great race overall.
