The more I look at the map of this country the more I realise I haven't even seen half of it. What places would you recommend a visit to? I'll start with one. Carlingford. Lovely spot altogether.

You know the old saying "Hell or Connaught"?
Ergo, if it's not Connaught it's hell :p

Ring of Kerry is nice too.

Your own grave is apparently one of the more sobering sights you can see before you die

    The Burren
    The Cliffs of Moher
Kilkenny (a great place to spend a weekend)
    The Ring of Kerry
    Connemara
    Newgrange
    The Giant's Causeway
    Croke Park
    Kilmainham Gaol
    The Rock of Cashel
    The Céide Fields
    Malin/Mizen Head and surrounding areas
Derry City and Belfast (especially if you are from the South, a real eye opener)

    Ireland is great :)

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot the Aran Islands. Amazing- I've travelled a fair bit of the world and The Aran Islands remain one of the most unusual and interesting places I've ever been. We are honestly so lucky with everything we have in such a small country. It really irks me to hear people bad mouthing Ireland and things to do here- we're spoiled for choice, and a lot of these things can be seen for free.

Everyone should take the walk out to Poolbeg Lighthouse in Dublin Bay at least once in their life.

A place to get away from it all in the heart of the capital.

Glenveagh National Park in Donegal - one of my favourite places in the whole country.

+1. Also on my all-time favourites list.

(and a lot easier to get to than Glenveagh for a Dub! :D)

I keep saying I will go every year but I never make it and I'm sure they will stop visitors soon as well but its got to be Skellig Michael. The Republic has only two Unesco World Heritage sites and this is one of them. How the monks lived out there I don't know.

Limerick. There's a fantastic ancient archaeological site at Moyross. Steeped in culture long thought to have been extinct, you won't want to leave.

    The Skelligs
    Ring of Kerry
    Mizen Head
    Aran Islands
    Burren
    Cliffs of Moher
    Beaches in West Cork
    Inch Strand, Co. Kerry
    Killarney National Park
Bealach Oisín, Co. Kerry (drove this road once kind of by accident, absolutely breathtaking)
    The list could keep going.

To add to that, if you go up Bray Head and then continue along towards Greystones on the path up there, there's some really nice scenery, especially in summer. You can see all down around Kilmac and all across to the mountains in the west.

The Magic Road. - It's one of those bizarre natural wonders where everything's gone haywire and nothing works the way it's supposed to.
It's what's called a strange phenomenon. If you stopped a car on it and took off the hand break, it would roll up hill. And water would flow up it.

It's nearly as mad a the loaves & the fishes.

    Oh and St.Kevin's Stump.

    Torc Waterfall is nice

The coastal drive from Carrickfergus to Partrush, especially from north of Larne to Cushendall

The top of Croagh Patrick looking over towards Clare Island is stunning.

The Skelligs from the air to really appreciate that some monks built out there

The view of Dublin from the car park of Stackstown Golf Club at night

Climbing to the top of the cliffs that are at the end of the road in Achill, with the island one side of you and the Atlantic on the other
