i still want to become at least one of those things though


right now, im qualified in bar management and tourism, and had a few jobs of same, now on the free cash, well thats different anyway :pac:

Didn't want to be anything and I achieved it by going on the dole. Result! I do work now though, although I don't ascribe to the idea of working my arse off, Diminishing returns and all that.

Very early on, up to about 12 or 13, was mad to go to sea, probably in fishing. Since then, wanted to be a soldier, finishing college in a year and a half (including a one-year M.Phil.) and so far, so good.

Used to be a dim kid in our primary school. Was kind of a sad case actually. He always wet himself in class.

Anyway, the teacher used to go around the class and ask the boys the same questions. For example I remember him going around asking us individually what religion we were. Pretty stupid when I think back as it was a Catholic boys school.

Anyway as you can imagine everybody was replying 'Catholic', but when he came to Wayne(not bothered changing his name) he said, "I'm not Catholic". The teacher surprised, asked Wayne, "Oh really, well what religion are you Wayne?"
He replied, "I'm Roman Catholic". This was the kind of thing we were dealing with. I

feel sorry for the poor lad now, but anyway. Teacher was going around asking people what they wanted to be when they grew up. Wayne as I said was always wetting himself in class, so when it came to him...

"Wayne what do you want to be when you get older?". Wayne, poor sod wasn't quick enough off the mark and pondered for half a second, which was enough time for the class joker to shout from the back of the class, "A one man Fire Brigade."

Quite an ingenious and quick witted comment from an 8 year old.

Anyway, I wanted to be a Pilot. Someday

I kind of had this faux ambition of wanting to be an accountant or bank manager when I was a bit younger, but at some point I realised that being an accounting isn't for me, probably due to the fact it's bloody boring. I also thought it would be really cool being a pilot, and I still somewhat want to be too in some way, but not in some kid-like ambition type of way.

Now I'm in my first year of college studying a B.Sc. degree in Business Information Systems. I'm loving the technological aspects of it to be honest. Will see where it takes me.
