    Hello,

I'm just trying to setup the WiFi in my father in law's restaurant. At the moment its password protected.

The first thing I noticed is that, once I'm on the LAN, I have access to the Router settings via the IP address http://192.168.1.254 (Eircom Router).

How do I password protect the router settings ?

    Regards,
    Stephen

See the heading "adding a password" down the bottom.

Just be aware that any other device on that router may be accessible from users logging in. For example if you had a pc plugged in for accounting purposes it would be on the same subnet as people logging in from their phones or laptops. Just be sure that you have a decent firewall and have disabled all sharing on any local machines.

I would also use WPA encryption as the default WEP can easily be cracked and your network can be compromised

It won't matter once the devices are connected. Although you could print up cards with the WPA key on it so no one else can hop on for free and up your bill. (torrenting, etc).
