    Hey,

OK this is going to be a very broad query but i thought i'd just go for it and see if ANYBODY could give me any advice on any of the below.

I am in my early 20s and have become so inactive in the last few years. My weekdays are consumed with work and housework and to escape I usually turn to going out at the weekends for a "few" drinks

I really want to get out and get active without getting too serious. I have been looking for clubs/fitness groups in the Dublin 15 area but not getting very far.

If anybody has any opinion on the following in the area, i'd really appreciate some advice :)

Boxercise, classes, basketball, running clubs or any other suggestions???

There are quite a few boot camp classes around, in pheonix park, coolmine rugby club etc... I'm sure there must be something up at coolmine school too...

You could also get a bike, can't beat a lap or two of the pheonix park!

Yeah I've heard of those bootcamps but there seems to be so many of them it's hard to know which are any use (I'm sure there's a few scam artists out there).
Can anybody recommend a good one?

Your right though, there is prob a lot of fitness groups around here. Suppose I just need a push in the right direction.

    Thanks for your reply! :)

    Yip
It's getting out of the rut that is the problem. My wife would pester me to go for a walk. I even had a text thing sent to my phone every day for me to get up and out, it wasn't bad but there were days I would ignore it. But I'm in a good frame of mind now. Sort your mind out and your body will follow I think!:)

There's a couple of triathlon clubs that train out of the NAC, a few running clubs on the other side of the phoenix park. What do you enjoy? Do you drive? Dunboyne AC isn't far from D15 either I guess?

Junior football, hurling ,soccer , rugby, handball, tennis, running. You are totally spoiled for choice in Dublin 15 every sport going and every sort of club.

Go for whatever you have an interest in........the hardest part will always taking that first step but you would be surprised must clubs are crying out for new people. They will be as glad to have you as you are to have them

Most are the same but trust me if you go down you will get seriously fit and will enjoy it.

The danger is it becomes addictive and takes over your life!:D

Not to reminisce too much here but nothing beats pushing off in a single scull as the sun is rising and the mist is rising off the lake. Water like glass and the only ripples are those made by your oars.

If I lived in D15 I'd be at islandbridge a few mornings a week!

    I miss those early mornings!

Check out 'Fitness Performance Systems' in BASE Enterprise Centre in Mulhuddart:

They run boxercise, kettlebells, strength & performance and conditioning classes in the mornings and evenings. Nice setup and lots of fun, which makes getting fit a lot less of a chore!

No worries. Just to clarify - I've been going to FPS for a while and can definitely recommend it. :)
