Hi all, I am trying to wean myself onto a low carb diet and need some help.. It has been reccomended on this site to not go past 20 net grams of carbs a day and i have found a list of items on the atkins website that state the carb in foods. but I am unsure as to how much protein to consume- how many chicken breasts a day? how many eggs for breakfast or in an omlette for lunch?i have read on here that you need to up your fat intake also- but after being on a diet for the past 2 years, i will find it difficult to start eating alot of these foods while in my head they have been the enemy for so long! will a low carb diet work if you do not up the fat intake also?and also how long does it take to start losing the pounds as does the body need to adjust to the change in burning fat instead of sugar?
I would really appreciate any help or guidance on the matter.. there is alot of peeps raving about low carb- but i'm confused as to where to start or if i should embark on this. Can anyone share their experience of the low carb?

    Thanks a mil.

I would suggest reading the Atkins book which will give you all the information about his diet. The 20gm of carbs limit is only for the first 2 weeks of the Atkins diet and is not intended for long term.
