I think the general concept is fine but you will always get the cagey reaction which is understandable.
I think once you get the ball rolling with a pic & description it might generate some interest.
Personally I wouldn't breed from my Springer for a few different reasons so won't be posting. If I was interested it wouldn't bother me to post a pic & brief description & say province, style, drive, previous litters etc

    Ben (My hero's big adventure)

Ben is a three year old hard hitting old type spaniel . He has a great nose style and drive . he has two seasons of woodcock , phesent and duck shot over him , ive hunted ben for five and six hours and then went for night flights there is no end to his stamina when hes ant full fitness .

he was head strong during his training as all males are but is as honest and they come and is always eger to please . Ive shot over his father and he has the same honesty about him and is a season hunter him self .

backround includes . intfch hattonwood broc , intfch millshadow aster , ftch merlin's brook evita , intfch phillips girl , ftch robb of rytex , ftch badgercourt warlord and my favourite ftch Badgercourt druid .

im based in leitrim and service is €200 but would be interested in a pup if the lines were right and the bitch took my liking .

Peter !! If you seen my dog and peters main dog side by side u would think there out of the same litter . His big dog has the very same lines as my dog , lots of trailing in his dog , just all the old school dogs badger court Druid and Phillips girl dogs like that .

What's the difference between the old type springers and the newer type? Is it just size? If so is it height?

Size , stamina , shape of head. , game finding ability and there stamina in heavy cover .

A lot of the trailing spaniels would find big game birds a hand full to carry .

Trialing spaniels being small yes? I have a 5 month old fella, would love to know what type he is. To me he's small but is very robust, big paws, legs, head, body and doesn't tire no matter what.

Yes small , my fella wouldn be to far off the size of a small Labrador , at 5 months old you shouldn't be doing a lot with him , what sort of background has he

I don't do anything with him, just basic obedience and the last week a few throws of a dummy is all. But I take him out the fields with me, he loves it. Unsure of his background, was given to me for nothing. Was told he was from good working stock but that'll remain to be seen.

    here are our two
the dog is a field trial champion and his litter brother is an international ftc he will work all day everyday and is one of the best shooting dogs i have had the pleasure to know we bred a litter last year and the pups were big strong lads one was as big as any lab pup of the same age he has gone to a very good working home so i'll see how he pans out
so it's possible to have the two attributes in one animal

trigger to be honests when i seen your dog up around the head and neck i thought he was the same lines alright thats why i posted the pic.fine dog all the same.i like heavily marked dogs in pointers also.i think the reason the trialing men like the white so much makes the dog look flasher style.iv an old type cocker here big strong fella gets quicker as the day goes believe it or not.i was going to post pics of him buts it springer men only ha ha.

I have a litter due next week the 7th april from serious cover bashing parents, both parents are uk imports. The pups from the last mating are now 9 months old and are already hunting heavy cover, the pups are the big strong old style springer thats so hard to find now in Ireland.Im new to this site and am only feeling my way,so I will upload pics of the parents when I figure out how to do it.

This is my fella Dennis, just 6 months this week. Retrieving a dummy to hand since first time of asking, nose in the ground the whole time and like a little bull. Wonder if he's the old or new type dog.

.My point about trial dogs was their tendency to be getting smaller,I didnt say all trial dogs are small, but a large percentage are, along with the other negative tendencies I mentioned.Your dog is a fine example of a springer ,hope your pups turn out to be crackers.
