    Guys,

    i've been doing WW since Feb and have lost 4stone or 20% of my starting weight.

    WW has helped me figuring out my correct portion sizes and make smart choices in what im eating but

    Im starting to find it hard and want to try a different system. I want to go down the calorie counting route but have some questions...

    How do i establish my daily allowance?
    How do i know how many cals Ive burnt?
    Where can i find out how many cals are in 'loose' foods like meats, fruit, veg, ...?

    Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I found my BMR and from that I got the following:

    For Weight Loss:·If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = (BMR x 1.2) - 500cals => 2000cals·If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = (BMR x 1.375)-500 => 2300cals·If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = (BMR x 1.55) -500 => 2660cals·If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = (BMR x 1.725)-500 => 3070cals

    Am I correct in saying I adjust my intake depending on excersice levels or do I average it out?
    Any one have a list of 'loose foods and their calorie levels + what excersise burns what calories?

    Thanks

    I've used myfitnesspal.com in the past to track my food - I used the android app mainly but the website is good for reports like showing weight loss progress and breakdown of protein, carbs, etc. in a day's food. It has a database of foods and also exercise so it might be what you're looking for.

    I have this and it's fantastic. I was always a points gal too and loving the ease of this :)

    Read the stickies at the top of this forum, lots of useful info there to get you started. If you want to track your food and exercise, Sparkpeople.com is a great website, and you can add in any foods that aren't already on it.
