Losing weight is all in the mind - article

    I agree and disagree with her. There is a big psychological factor in weight loss, a lot of people think it's too hard or they're just genetically fat and when they try to lose weight they dive head first into a professional athlete's diet and exercise regime.

    You can't change your eating habits over night, which is why so many New Year resolutions fail in my opinion.

    I, like her, eat the same food I always have. I've eaten countless takeaways in the last 3 to 4 months, drank copious amounts of alcohol and lost over 30lbs (beat my 190lbs plateau this week :D). I eat the same food and drink the same drinks, just less. I'm more conscious of my weight and what I'm eating and that is the key. I don't put a lot of effort into it either, I've learned from experience if I focus too much on it I become flustered and frustrated and eventually fall off the wagon. It's just something I passively do now, weigh myself on Friday mornings and adjust what I eat accordingly.

    In saying that the following comment confused me;
    "I was fat because I bought into the multi-million euro scam that is the diet industry. I counted calories."
    Is she implying counting calories is a scam?! Bull****, it's why it works. It's working for her now she just isn't the one counting the calories. Ultimately it's the only thing that works.
