New URL redirects

Every url linking away from boards seems to be of the form: boards.ie/vbulletin/out.php?f=x&url=y, x being the forum i'm in and y being the url linked in the post. Is there a particular reason why this has changed? Think i only noticed it today.

It doesn't look good when I hover the mouse over a link, see that it starts with www.boards.ie but then has =www.differentsite.ie at the end. It makes me feel suspicious of genuine users who did intend to only have a link saying www.differentsite.ie
