Never. I wash my sheets, isn't that enough?

I sleep on the floor. It's less hassle that way.

    No.

I made it once, when it was brought home from Ikea.
The instructions on how to make it were very easy to follow.
Flat packed furniture is a modern day miracle y'know!

Don't we have women for that sort of thing?

    No, I'm not 8.

I do, all it involves is throwing my duvet over the bed and rearranging my pillows, about 12 seconds work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,470 ✭✭✭Mr_Roger_Bongos

I've been stinking it up all night! Need to let that baby air.

Make it in the evening when i get home from work.

    Honestly no :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,607 ✭✭✭Meauldsegosha

Technically no because I fold back the duvet to let the bed air. I do fix the pillows and smooth out the undersheet.

Exactly, I don't see why people don't do it tbh

    No..I let it air out.
Very unhealthy to make a bed after you sleep in it as you allow bacteria etc to survive longer.
Opening the bed to the air allows them to be killed off over a few hours.

    Yes, I do.
    I like order!
Now straighten that tie and stand straight up!
    Left, right, left, right...
Now my fellow stormtroopers, lift those jackboots higher and sing our glorious German national anthem!
Sing you swinehunts - SING GOD-DAMN IT!!!!!!

    Deutschland, Deutschland über alles
    Über alles in der Welt
Wenn es stehte zun Schutz und Trutze
    Brüderlich zusammen hält
Von der Maas bis an die Memel
Von der Etsch bis an den Belt
    Deutschland, Deutschland über alles
    Über alles in der Welt

    Deutsche Frauen, deutsche Treue
    Deutscher Wein und deutscher Sang
    Sollen in der Welt behalten
    Ihren alten schönen Klang
    Uns zu edler tat begeistern
    Unser ganzes Leben lang
    Deutsche Frauen, deutsche Treue
    Deutscher Wein und deutscher Sang

    Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
    Für das deutsche Vaterland
    Danach lasst uns alle streben
    Brüderlich mit Herz und Hand
    Einigkei und Recht und Freiheit
    Sind des Glückes Unterpfand
    Blüh im Glanze dieses Glückes
    Blühe deutsches Vaterland

Biggins, your Ma must have been crazy about bed making :D

Roll out of it in the morning and make it before the girlfriend comes over.

Not giving the ghost that lives in my room the satisfaction of having the bed made for him!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

Last time I dressed a bed 3 and a half people died as a result :(

I'll refuse to dress my bed until some likeable chap tries to convince me to join his team so I can reclaim my glory in the international bed-making competition, overcoming my fears of failure and death.

    Nope.

Always... Even if I'm runnning late I will ALWAYS make the bed.... Even if I'm sick or hungover I get out of the bed, make it, then get back in. But I'm clearly a freak

    You are not a freak.
You are a glorious example for our glorious nation!
The untidy swinehunts will shortly be sent away for re-education!
    Miserable untidy curs!
The fourth Reich will have order - ORDER I SAY!!!

No, I wriggle out in such a way that I don't have to re-arrange it at all.

    Kinda like a worm.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,058 ✭✭✭✭Abi

I do make it, but not straight away. I go room to room tidying, so in the course of the day it's made.

I'm OCD too and make it straight away once I get up. I don't leave the room until it is perfect, no creases in the duvet etc.

I throw the duvet nicely back over the bed, i don't want to be made out to be a slob. Then step over the piles of clothes, chocolate wrappers and cups to exit the room!

I didn't do it growing up and it didn't bother me, if it didn't bother me today I happily wouldnt but it does I can tell if I'm either in the middle of assessments and/or really down my bed will be unmade.

Each to their own I will never be one of those mothers who tell their children to make their bed, only clean their rooms to avoid the scenario above :>

I have people who do that kinda thing for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Yes absolutely, straight away. Probably a bit OCD or whatever...

Making your bed in the morning is a simple trick to make one less depressed

Not a hope! In the evenings I give it a bit of a half-arsed tidy-up. I only make it properly when I've changed the sheets, which I've just done now actually.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,554 ✭✭✭✭alwaysadub

Yep. Can't get into an unmade bed!
Mind you most of the time it just involves pulling the duvet cover back up, I don't move about too much in my sleep

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭ForeverYoung90

    My mammy makes it.

Better for the bed to leave it undressed, dustmites and all that. My story and am sticking to it.(Story that is, not the bed)

Yeah maybe not in the morning but at some point in the day. hate getting into an unmade bed

Mornings are not my strong point so no, I don't. Just don't have the time. I make it in the evening though, just 'cause I can't study or relax in a messy room.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 923 ✭✭✭Johnny Foreigner

    Bed making is woman's work.
I am a man, so no.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,302 ✭✭✭JohnMearsheimer

No, I never say the point when I was just going to mess it up a few hours later. When I change the sheets and duvet cover is about the only time I'll make it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 467 ✭✭pbowenroe

do you wipe your arse before you crap?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,540 ✭✭✭Giselle

Out of bed, open windows, shake out the duvet and drape it over the bed end, plump pillows, stand them on end against the headboard, into shower, have breakfast, close windows, dress bed, get dressed.

    Not OCD at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,030 ✭✭✭✭Chuck Stone

I go to bed with a suit on.

    Depends.....................

If either of the cats have got onto the quilt, and gone off to sleep, no way, I value the non leaking status of the back of my hands too much.......

    Otherwise...............

The quilt gets folded back so that the bed can air.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
