    Hi all,

Currently I have two broken ribs, it happened last week, but I would like to know when it is a good idea to start getting fit. Im thinking swimming, but would it do more harm than good? Im still in a lot of pain so wont do anything for a while, just planning ahead.

In a few weeks, would gentle running outdoors or swimming aggravate the injury?

Anyone got any appropriate exercise suggestions?

    Thanks!

If it hurts, don't do it.

Problem with broken ribs is that almost everything is gonna hurt.

What did your doc / physio suggest?

Broken ribs need rest to heal, mine took over 6 weeks before I could go back to larger ROM exercises.

We can't really advise you here on it, maybe a sports doc/physio.

Like Hanley said, if it hurts, don't do it
