Henry Winter from the Telegraph thinks he's gone awaiting confirmation now. Managers to replace him?

Hughes left Fulham though because of his family to move up to the north west so I don't see him getting the job.

Maybe, but don't QPR have money to spend? Might be a draw for Hughes.

Yeah, I was thinking that but he might have just been using that as an excuse to leave Fulham because he thought he'd get the Villa job.

Fairly Harsh tbh, I reckon he was getting the most of that team/squad he could

Warnock is a great manager at getting teams out of the championship into the PL, but when he gets there he's shite

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

It's on SSN. I just wonder if his off-field outbursts contributed to the decision.

    Hardly doing terrible this season

He managed Sheffield United when they were in the PL

No he was there with Shef Utd , you remember his rant at West Ham because of the Tevez transfer ?

    Wow.

Warnock sacked? Bet that raised a few eyebrows. Not Warnock's obviously, the he hasn't got any.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭Samich

God I can't even remember Sheff Utd in the PL :P

I remember Warnock as manager though.

So he was manager once in the PL before and got relegated, now with QPR who aren't in the relegation zone. Hardly shhit at managing in the PL?

Bloody hell that's harsh. As much as I dislike Warnock he's done a great job with QPR

They were on an awful run but he was a victim of his own success after a decent start to the season.

Owners obviously plan on spending a few quid in January but don't trust Warnock with the cash.

Would seem to be it. Thought he'd done a decent job considering he didn't have that much to spend.

I'm a Wednesday fan, so not Colins biggest fan, but that seems harsh

So long Colin!!! Delighted we won't see him again in the Premier League. His rant after the Norwich game must have been the last straw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,658 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Au revoir for Colin. QPR were only promoted team I wanted to see go back down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,883 ✭✭✭smokedeels

I'm not surprised, their squad is better than 17th

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,023 ✭✭✭Barr

    Poor decision by QPR.

Probably right all things considered; no point letting him spend money in January if he wasn't going to be staying. At least doing it early, if they have a replacement waiting in the wings, they can get the squad right before the transfer window closes and they have a shot at staying up.

Theres been a couple of good decisions sackwise in the last year or so - Newcastle [though Hughton got a rough deal] and WBA have all worked out for the better for the clubs.

    Very poor decision, imo.

But typical QPR - I suppose nothing ever really changes.

    *sigh*

qpr to go down, roy keane as manager

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 346 ✭✭dibs101

Calls robin van Persie a cheat one week then defends joey barton the next. Take your whining and excuses back to the championship where you belong Neil.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,656 ✭✭✭cgpg5

Not a fan of Colin but while harsh you can see (if slightly) where the owners are coming from, QPR may be 17th but they are, as it stands, in serious trouble, the teams below them are gradually picking up points while QPR are on an awful run, still hope they go down though!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Thought he had been doing a decent job so seems a bit harsh, however if the club wanna spend a few quid and have someone lined up who they think is better and will attract better players then fair enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,595 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

His comment the other week after Barton got sent off that Joey wouldn't have gone down the way the Johnson did was just hilarious. Couldn't believe the interviewer didn't call him on it, I mean the Gervinho thing wasn't even long ago!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,466 ✭✭✭tim_holsters

You've gotta love Warnock's indefatigable belligerence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭jesus_thats_gre

He seemed to be doing ok. Guessing that he whined a bit too much about transfer funds or something and got the chop.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,876 ✭✭✭Spread

I'm probably the oldest QPR fan in boards. Started following them whilst living in London in 1968/69 in the glory days. Am sad to see Warnock go ........ but can see the logic. However Hughes would not be my choice. Ladbrokes have some silly names up on their board. Am surprise that they didn't stick Doherty's name up :D. Ian Holloway is probably the best on the list ........ he should never have got the high jump ....... but his face (and newspaper column did not fit). However, if they wanted a change of manager, they are doing it at the right time. At least the guy can get the players that he wants.

Did he not get Notts County up the season before it became the Premier League and they were relegated after 1 season?
