Wholewheat noodles- do they exist? Are they hard to find? I'm planning on making chicken ramen each week, but want it to be healthy.

Another question- chicken broth- can I just add an Oxo cube?

And last sneaky question- what's the difference between boiling chicken and poaching it, and which is healthier?

Why would you want to eat grains?
Spuds and grains are what you feed pigs to make them fat.

Quinoa is an exception though! ;-)

I consider all grains to be bad so I don't eat them very often.

Quinoa IS NOT A grain, it is a SEED.

Does every thread in here have to be de-reilaed by the grains are bad/paloe etc etc thing?

The OP asked for noodles, lets answer the OP. If you want to start a thread about graisn, please go ahead but enough threads have been de-railed around here.

You can definitely buy wholewheat noodles. Personally, I don't like them. A better option might be wholewheat spaghetti, which is nutritious and tastes good. The best option yet as mentioned above is buckwheat noodles, which you can buy in Asian stores, which taste wonderful, and are generally gluten-free.

Re chicken broth - yes you can definitely make it with a stock cube. But it won't be genuine chicken broth, which is made by boiling chicken carcasses and veg for hours. It might also be a bit salty.

If it's an American recipe you're using, chicken broth is synonymous with chicken stock. In which case any kind of stock will be grand.

There is no real difference between boiling and poaching, although I think poaching is at a lower heat in a shallower dish. They are exactly the same in terms of health. They're both methods of cooking in liquid.

the knorr chicken stock in pots will give a better flavour than an oxo cube.
also look out for soba noodles, I think tesco sell them.

OP, wherever you see "soba" it means buckwheat.
