Cheap, bit of test, room for a little haggle, might even be a little bit of warranty. Whats not to like ?

The number of old Nissan Bluebird ads that I've seen with them claiming it to be a "rare car now", pretty funny.

.. they are a rare car now though :)

Same line is also thrown into adverts for mark I and II Camry's together with the Carina II

If I was looking for something to get me through 6 months or so I'd be buying this :pac:

Sorry, I think that looks incredibly tacky. 1800 asking is very much at the steep end for 6 months motoring too.

Tis grand for belting around while a fellow would be waiting for his new arrival.Sure I'd have more than that much lost on a new one in an instant.

Pass it on to my son when I would be done with it.;)

Couldnt be good for a bad back that yoke.

Filling in all the car details with different cars & manufacturers would be enough to turn me off ever ringing the fool if I was in the market for an old C-class Merc

Belting around in a 16 year old 1.8 manual skangered c-class?

With a ludicrous asking price of €1,800?

Not really, I've seen five or six of them for sale while searching for cheap old cars.

i'm well aware that the laguna 2 is a deeply flawed car, but i think if i got 50 euro off the asking price and showed it a little love (dependingon its state of repair) it would be a possible money maker?

how bad can it be if it "starts and drvices ok" i know those could be the famous last words :P

    Beat that;)

    We can't beat that :)

Fresh test done less than 2 weeks ago, still taxed too. €550 asking price, just serviced incl. timing belt

I feel this car makes it into the top 5 bangernomics cars of all time!

From all the bunch of older C-Class Mercs advertised, this would be the last one I would buy.
I can really do a lot better than that.

Can't get a much better C-Class then a C36 AMG. A bit outside the Bangernomics scope though.

NCT just up but there seems to be a service history, the freshly sprayed tyres prompted a google search of the number, more than this car for sale too.

Still, fresh miles, recently belted, diesel with air con for less than a grand asking price. If it checked out on inspection it should be quite capable of passing a test no bother at all, rear trailing arm bushes would be the only less than obvious thing I'd be worried about, not a huge issue either if they needed doing. If that was in Cork I'd be having a look.

Sold, asking price was dropped to €750

Never realised you could book NCT so far ahead, or maybe he's got a flux capacitor fitted. I like it though.

Also, didn't realise Volvo V70s came with 1.8 petrol engines. That would struggle a bit, surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Those Rovers/MG's are very basic underneath so once the engine is ok i wouldnt' be overly concerned about an NCT.

This is not the place to sell your own car. Next time an infraction will be handed out.
