    mk3 MR2 - €1650

Looks clean, although I prefer the mk2 in every way this might suit somebody. if theres a VVTI in it it'll probably consume oil ...

Totally impractical (even for a two-seater sports car) but ridiculously good fun to drive and supposedly quite economical.

I agree with you though that the mk2 is superior in every way...the mk3 is the black sheep of the MR2 family, but still a great car.

It's an avensis, so inherently dull.
The only way an avensis is bangeromics is if its got loads of test, low mileage, loaded to the hilt with spec, or free.

Now on some cars you can argue that they're so interesting or rare that you'd over look the lack of nct, but that yoke has nothing going for it.

The bangeromics criteria (as i understand them anyway) are:

    Something you'd actually drive yourself
    Under €2000
    NCT essential
    Tax is a bonus
    Car is registered in Ireland
    Not a Peugeot 406

My old 96 406 diesel did 50,000 miles for me cost €500 regular oil changes 2 NCTs from wrecker 1 starter motor 1 heater fan 1 pair wishbones 1 new wheel bearing hub got Timing belt and glow plugs done for less than €200. Plenty of life left in it when I traded up because I couldn't be bothered with it sucking air into fuel system. Bangernomics no?

Well it had all the extras like.

    Left AND right electric windows
Aldi hubcaps and Lidl stereo (For that German feel)
    Heated passenger mirror

Er... Will sail through NCT (if you spend enough!)

Actually kinda miss the mpg aspect.

Higher end of bangernomics and price for this model perhaps, but cheap motoring for many years, particularly if the history is good.

    Way too expensive.

It's a UK import too, so that low mileage would need some serious history checking (going back 12 years).

I got 575 miles to the tank on the last fill...:) Also it only needed 3 droplinks and 4 anti roll bar bushings for the test..

Way OT here - but is it just me or is that one of the most irritating phrases to befall this forum?

Why cant people use MPG (or hell, even the tool of the divil, l/100km)
