Consultant in Rotunda

Hi all,

Thinking of going private in Rotunda and going with Geraldine Connolly.

From what I have read in other posts she seems to be understanding and down to earth - which is what we want!

Any idea of the fees for the consultant? I do have the basic VHI plan - Is there any extra charges outside of the Consultants fee?

We went private last time, with Geraldine. We found her brilliant, and very down to earth like you mentioned. Her fees were €3500 at the time (2011).

We are pregnant again, but this time we are going semi-private. With the hospitals being so busy during this baby boom we ended up not getting a private room for a couple of days (after c-section) and the on-call consultant ended up doing the c-section. So we feel semi-private just makes more sense considering how few private rooms the hospitals seem to have and with how busy they are!

Anyway the best of luck, I can't recommend Geraldine enough!

PS: I am pretty sure VHI cover everything except the consultants fee (that is all we paid anyway)

I went to Dr Geraldine Connolly this year and had a baby boy in April 2013 I found her fantastic, so kind and caring and re-assuring and really put me at ease every visit I was anxious at the start about the pregnancy and she was really wonderful I cant recommend her highly enough
