Procrastination can be traced back to a fear of failure, just pretend to be
awesome and you'll do the exam like a baws!

I started doing my exam paper questions today, some craic!
Although I hope I'm allowed to bring a calculator to the exam...

****in' jealous. Sick of learning these Dvorak essay questions.

Flippin' love Dvořák! Although Janáček and Martinů are cooler IMO.

I'd agree with you on Janacek, don't know much about Martinu. I should probably fix that... :pac:

I'm not complaining about the music btw, I'm complaining about having to memorise all this stuff about the music. Surely there are better ways to approach studying a country's musical identity.

Was he not on the course this year? I wrote a paper on him a year ago on Erasmus. Some lad.
Yeah it's a bit of a haphazard crash course at times.

He is, just very briefly. I'm gonna cram him in tomorrow. Pretty underprepared for this exam :o

    Duddy, are you invigilating?

I did all mine before Christmas. Now I'm just flat-out bored. And I'm still in the college. Whyyyyyyy?

It's probably not common. Besides the normal dissertation business, I've exams for the whole two years. Some of them are for language modules, so it's understandable, but some are for MA modules too. I actually don't really mind. Find writing essays far more stressful and difficult than exams.

All I really want to do is play Skyrim. But I know if I buy that I'll fail the entire year, not just this semester.

Anyone else using those Bach Rescue Remedy pastilles? Really good for calming you down if you're getting stressed.

I used to play Skyrim but then I took an arrow to the knee.

If you're invigilating in either of my exams I'm going to make sure and ask for paper every two minutes :pac:

Used the spray last year, it is really good actually. Think I might have to invest in a new one before Friday.

I used them in first year and found them pretty good, also the chewing gums. I found them even better because they lasted longer. Don't use them anymore though, I think I've learned to calmly accept my impending doom.

Unless a question on DSM comes up in my PS302 exam. Then I'll probably snort a couple of packets of the stuff. Currently attempting dances to the gods in hope itl make schizophrenia and anxiety come up!

This year's preferred method of procrastination has been youtube.

Pinned down one definition? It must be time to watch Manflu again!

Written 150 words for most difficult exam? Great....you should watch The Guy Who Slipped on the Ice once more!

Found all your notes for one subject? You are a genius.....Rubberbandits Gay Racist time!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,810 ✭✭✭Seren_

Youtube for me too, as well as here :p Although I've mainly been watching beauty tutorials, not funny videos.

I tried working out how many hours are left until my exam tomorrow at 9:30, but I got confused. Thank god it's not a maths exam anyway!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,645 ✭✭✭Daemos

Does it count as procrastination if you haven't actually started studying yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭rcaz

If anyone's spent the last two days at a desk oscillating between "I got this!" and "I'll repeat this!" like I did, go out for a cycle or something! Just got back from one and I feel way better about everything. We'll get through this together :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭CaoimH_in

    DITTO THAT!

No cycling for me but running for sure!

apologies for my newbness but how/when do we get the results?

For these exams your departments give them out, for next semester exams they're posted on the internet (in Student Web Services) some time during the summer. Forget exactly when.

I know the music department posts a big list of all the results on a noticeboard, and the maths physics department gets a lecture to tell you after class.

    Okay, thanks to the joys of chrome extensions, boards is getting blocked until 12pm tomorrow. Bye guize ;______________;

    ALL NIGHTER WOO!

Edit: Right, this time I'm really going to block it. I CAN'T STOP POSTING ಠ_ಠ

Will an all-nighter really be worth it? You need your rest!

Doubling up on that; it's really not worth it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,810 ✭✭✭Seren_

As you can see, I still haven't left :p

I'll see about the all-nighter... I usually get wrecked by about 2am and end up going to bed anyway. I might just take the two of yous' advice and do two good hours of reading/looking over notes and head to bed at 12...

Really freaking out now :/:/ I need to calm down before I end up having a panic attack or something.

    :( Poor divil's.

Exam layout today for Film. Should be OK. Jazz is my next worry.

Edit: Little bit of inadvertent sexism in that song. Speaks about the gender-neutral 'scientists' then, "they're just humans, with wives and children". Tutut, expect better from the greatest rock band ever.

Aww Film! Memories. I got 18 in it the first time I did it :p it's handy enough really though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭rcaz

Anyone else feel like the exam you're least prepared for is the one you're worried about least as well?

I'll probably be repeating Quantum Mechanics 2, no point worrying about it now :pac:

The ones I'm alright-ish prepared for, however, have me feeling sick :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,764 ✭✭✭mickstupp

I don't do a film module, but I love The Wild Bunch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭CaoimH_in

    Peckinpah is the man.

Jazz & Pop has me sick.

Edit: @Yourtexthere We watched Wall-e this year too; as our pick your own film from the noughties. But yeah, class module.
