Any recommendation for a decent weighing scales. I don't need too many bells and whistles. Just something that is accurate every time (ie consistent) and preferably digital and can give readings in various formats (ie Imperial and Metric)

    Salter scales are pretty good.

I'm on the market for scales too. Most should be reasonably accurate and, even if not, it's the trend most should be watching as opposed to the actual weight.

The set at my house give varying readings now though because two of the legs (not standard legs, ones that seem to have some magnetic setup inside each of them) fall off or dislodge from time to time.

I've seen Salter recommended on numerous other threads in the past. These ones look pretty good and are probably what I'll end up going for.

Pay the extra money and get these salter mibody ones http://www.amazon.co.uk/Salter-MiBody-Analyser-Digital-Bathroom/dp/B0013IUNQO

The main advantage you get software to track your weight , it can also work out BMI, body fat , water , muslce .

I have been using it 3 years and i must say its excellent .

The main dowside is that you must learn how to input your age , height etc into it and learn how to use it properly some people who arent good with tech cant use it properly.

They're probably pretty good - depending on your requirements.

    However, for me:

BMI - I'm looking to put on muscle so BMI is skewed and useless
BodyFat - I have calipers which are much more accurate than the 'electricity passed through the body' method used by these
Water/Muscle - Don't need to know it if I know my accurate bodyfat percentage anyway

I'm not putting your suggestion down or anything - just saying that I don't need the extra features because I've already got Accu-measure calipers. The original poster may take it on board though.

SECA scales are very good, this one should do the job (instruction manual at the bottom, can be downloaded):

    Not sure about the price...

to be honest the feature i like most is the way you can save the info to usb and then onto comp and track your progress etc, i can look back over the last few years and see how effective certain types of excercise etc are for me.

    Thanks for the replies, folks.

Again, I prefer the callipers to get an accurate measure. But the function to save weights and track back is pretty useful I must say
