49ers coverage must be excellent - with all the time he has, his receivers still can't run free. a lot of check downs form Brees.

There's been a couple of plays where Brees has had well over 6 seconds to survey the field.

I can throw as well as Drew Brees (with our left hands)

wow, imagine they are getting that much pressure with a 3 man rush.

Justin Smith takes down two players at the same time. What an animal.

    How's that turf taste Drew?

Wow Justin Smith has been awesome tonight. 49ers only rushing four players most of the time and just breaking up the pocket at will on that last drive for the Saints. Smith's play on 3rd down was as good as I've ever seen.

    C'mon 49ers! I was sure I was living in 2012 but apparently I'm back in the 80's!

I can't understand why the Saints are still running play action. They've only rushed 13 times in the game. Brees has to turn his back to the rush, and they're not biting on it at all. Just put him in the shotgun and let him pass.

Sorry lads, I dont really follow the American Football but I see between tonight and tomorrow night there is 4 games on.

Do the 4 winners go into the semi-finals of the Super Bowl?

Going to watch some of the games tomorrow night, who should win the games?

    Thanks

You gotta laugh. Jeff on sky sports had just said that the 49ers defence would be tiring because of all the offences 3 and outs then they come uP with 3 big pressure plays on brees

Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!

    You're obviously not a Niners fan :)

Cracking game. Niners defense is incredible. I just wish they'd run some slow screens on O to suck in the Saints pass-rush (they're check-blitzing, based on who is staying in to protect). Six points in nowhere near enough of a lead to be comfortable vs Brees and the Saints. This is tense!

Yep, that's it. The winners of this game will play the winners of Green Bay V Giants. The winners of the Patriots V Denver will play the winners of Ravens V Texans in the semis.

Saints, Patriots, Ravens and Green Bay are the 4 favourites in their games.

A first down, that's big in this defensive slugfest.

Brees to drive the field, San Fran to get back to about a 47 yard FG and Akers to miss.

Hope not, i'd like the 49ers to win.

Concerned for San fran now, defence has been great, but offence not pulling their weight. Not far enough ahead.

    Edit - Boom.
