    First salmon of 2012

The first salmon of 2012 has been caught on the Liffey.

Problem is the Liffey is listed as closed (see here)

Anyone shed any light on this?

Will the angler be receiving a penalty from the IFI in the post?! :pac:

Although the Liffey is CLOSED this year. It was allowed open for the Dublin Salmon Anglers on a section 59 authorisation for the 1st of Jan only, for scientific purposes.
The fish was scale sampled and returned unharmed.

I think that should answer your questions.
