Stronglifts 5x5 workouts

I changed my routine recently to doing 5 sets of 5 but at a heavier weight to what I would've done in my 3 sets of 10 previously (normally bout 25% more) and I noticed I'm far more knackered at the end of the routine and am taking longer to recover in between workouts. Has anyone tried this this type of program previously and had similar experiences?

No complaints, I'm really happy with how it's going, just find it strange that I notice such a difference.

You're moving heavier weight which has a different effect. It can be more stressful to your nervous system and in fact you are most likely lifting more weight in your session by volume than if you were doing 3x10.

Yeah, I thought despite it being less reps the extra weight would make it more intense but didn't expect there to be such a big difference. I'm a bit shocked to be honest, deadly though can't complain at all!

In my experience of doing 5x5,the injurys and recovery time just isnt worth it for me.You will get bigger and stronger, but the stresses on your joints from dong the same lifts 3 times a week is a bit much imo.
If you feel its taking you longer to recover between workouts, try increasing your calorie intake as 5x5 is very taxing on the system, the extra grub will help with recovery.

That's the problem, I'm eating constantly as it is to the point that I feel full every waking hour of the day. I haven't even eaten any junk over Xmas as I'm trying to make every calorie count. I've been doing bit of isolation work at the end of my workouts as well so may need to ditch this and see if it helps, I may just be overtraining a bit as otherwise I don't know what to say.
