Looking back at all the money spent over the last year.

What item do you use and will continue to use.

    Or

Is there something that means a lot to you?

    Excluding anything from apple.

Hybrid bike. I cycled for years and years, but after starting to drive, I gave my old bike away and fell out of the practice. Bought it in summer and try to get out for 20km a week if the weather's decent. I wouldn;t be the type for jogging or gym but bike is a great way to keep some semblance of fitness and a good way to cut down on petrol as well for short trips.

I bought a vest for a pigeon made by a bra company.
An impulse spend, particularly as I don't have a pigeon.

Digital bridge camera - After years of using phone cameras it's great to have something with a decent lens.

HP Touchpad - After days of trying to get one, managed to get one thanks to the generosity of another member of Boards.

    Built a new gaming desktop - i5 2500K, 8GB, HD6850 for those interested.

Also bought a top spec Dell Latitude E5420 for college.

But isin't the chip greasy anyway? I'm to lazy to go down now and dig around in the freezer to see the nutritional info on an oven chip but I'd imagine the saturated fat is high before you use any oil anyway?

I really wanna buy that but even on sale its 150eur!!!:eek:
I dunno if I could spend that much just for the occasional chips...

Also this year I sold my old Canon 1000D slr and got a new Canon 600D slr camera. Mainly the upgrade was for the video/movie function the new canon camera has which my old camera lacked but due to being so exceptionally busy this year in college, I didn't get much opportunity to make much use of it. Hopefully next year I'll have more time to make good use of it!

I've never even read the thread but the thread title is burned in my memory. I would put my house on the first page containing the phrase "Pics or GTFO".

Anyways I upgraded to a 42" digital telly for my flat, I had been using a 15" for the first year of living here because I hadn't got a clue how to actually use/save money. I went from a tiny box with two channels of snowy picture to a big huge flatscreen with 8 channels of perfect picture.

I suppose if the recession taught me anything it's that saving for something and buying it is a whole lot more satisfying than getting a loan or paying in installments. No creeping guilt and you own the thing. I literally fondled it when I first got it.

Cut your own!! it takes 5 mins and after a couple of times you get really good at it. Sweet potatoes are also really nice.

Loads online on how to get the best from them. I like to cook. Preparing dinner for the family is my normal evening thang. I cant feed them oven food. They might get sick.

Tis alot of money but it has payed for itself over and over in my home. Wish I got the bigger one.

I love the 1000d. I would find it hard to find use of the 600d.
