I can only speak for myself but I don't think you would get the same benefit out of spinning at home.. half the point of it is the class environment and motivational music and encouragement (get f*****g moving) of the instructor.

i disagree, self motivation works too, i am going to k2ny in glanmire which is going great, nearly three stone shifted, but i hired a spinning bike for six weeks and used this as well as the personal training and loved it, spinerval dvds are good to watch when doing it at home

I was considering getting a spinning bike for home use and noticed the below on sale. Do you reckon this would be any good. Its just for use for when you could not be bother going to the gym and woud prefer to do you own diy spinning class

It can be a challenge to just sit on an indoor bike / turbo trainer and train at home, but there are lots of options to provide some motivation.

Here's a list of bookmarks I put together for clients who wanted to work out at home on their trainer or indoor bike and couldn't make it to a Spinning® session in the studio. Some of the content providers produce DVDs and some provide Streaming content:

    Global Ride

    Epic Rides

    Suffer Fest

    Endurance Films

    Spinervals

nice one, good on ya. haven't seen anyone mention spinervals on here before, Troy is a great guy, have been lucky enough to train and do workshops with him, he has some great techniques and ideas for interval training.

i just posted some links to other indoor training resources, always good to have some cycling specific motivation when working out at home :)

bike looks good, i got a bike from the irishsports site i listed above with an 18 kg flywheel for the same as the one in elverys, depends on the weight you want i guess, the bike i got seems ok so far three days for delivery, and you have to put pedals and stuff on yourself but it wasnt too bad

Id also plus one to sufferfest online video downloads and spinnervals

You can have an appropriate workout from home on a good indoor bike if you have the motivation to do so, so to speak
