What do you mean by 'lost'? Do bets count? If so, a fiver for me on a horse.

As you can see, I like to live on the wildside.

Two weeks wage, about €900 at the time. Threw it in a bin along with the payslip. Searched for an hour, no joy. Went and got it set up to go into my bank account after that.

I lost a 50euro note in boots once. I was doing my Christmas shopping and realised it was missing as soon as I went to pay for something in another shop. When I went back into boots they actually had it put aside for me  Restored my faith in humanity :)

    That's harsh.

Similarly, my friend's brother did nearly the same. back in the day. He was clearing up the table after dinner and threw it all into the fire to burn.

Few minutes later he's looking for his wage packet. Yep, it was thrown into the fire too. Must have been about 800 punts.

I've never really lost any large or even small to medium sums of money.

My dog did eat 50 euro on my dad once though. He left it on the counter top and went out. When he came back the dog had eaten half of it and pretty much shredded the other half.

He was a funny animal though. You'd be out walking him and a cat would walk in front of us with no reaction from him. Now if a leaf blew across the road he'd pull the shoulder off you trying to savage it!

i lost 36000 euro in a scam carried out by ex-business partner. he borrowed 280,000 in total against company and did a runner. bank came after me and i found partner had forged my sig on different agreements, quite badly too. except for one, even i couldn't tell it was fake. bank made a deal with me that if i took on the loan they'd chase partner for rest. following my solicitors advice i agreed........therefore losing 36,000.

    No.

Fair enough. My apologies, was having a bad morning getting sick. Stomach bug going around. :)

I lost (if it can be called that) in one day about £150,000+ (Punts) through a divorce.

    Ouch. That's harsh.
I lost £600 in a 'buying something from e-bay' scam years ago. I'm still gutted, and angry at myself for being such an idiot. But it made me wiser, and a lot less gullible in the long run!

I used to be somewhat of a gambler. For around 6 months I'd built up a nest of around 2500e that I intended to act as a limit i.e. I would try build on it, but if I lost it then no major stress since I'd won it (gambler's logic). I mostly bet on horses, but I'm also a huge fan of German soccer. Anyway I'd been following my fave team for a while (2nd division team in with no such big support). Watching a match I had a feeling that that my team was going to come back from 3-0 down - to win. Something about the shape of the team, the drive, and so on just clicked. I bet 800e on it  They did, in fact, come back to 3-3 as I suspected. With 10 mins to go I was sure they'd get another. I nearly died about twenty times watching it. Match ended 3-3.

I didn't have £8000 cash at the Employment Tribunal.
£8000 was the amount I would have received if I had won the Employment Tribunal.

Oh right, I'll have to revise my one then.

The most I ever lost is a few million euro. I had a big football accumulator on but a load of teams lost, but I would have won a few million euro had I won the bet.

So you didn't lose any money then. You can't lose what you never had.

Sure I lost a million in the lottery the other night, its what I would have won if my numbers had come up.

Was moving into my first place (rented) having lived at home all my life and I took out €200 from the atm, and walked away from it (fupping moron that I am). I like to think someone desperate for cash took it in the 90 seconds it took me to get back to the atm and not the two chuggers who had been about 20 feet away at the time.....

Me and my father invested 300,000 each into a meat company that went under 9 days later. We were lied to when we made our investment. The money came from selling our pub/restaurant, I thought about suicide at that time.
