Have been working through this one. Not easy by any means. Like you Eire Dearg, 1ac would open up some more. Can't figure it out and am missing a great many letters. I have ??O?A??? ?????T?O??. I reckon its an anagram of "giant vain patriot on"

Some of the clues that I'm missing are
    Across 15,19,25,28,30,36, 41,44,48,55,58,71,76,78,81,87,88,110
    Down 1, 4,6,21,27,35,39,40,41,50,63, 64,66,81,
Would welcome and share answers with anyone. Happy New Year to all crossword/quizword fans.:o:o

A lot of people including me would have sent theirs away by now. If you give the clues someone will probably remember the answers. Or have a look in the other thread down the page.
