I heard it was last season full stop.

Wonder how Kim Jong Il's death will mess up their Avery subplot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 187 ✭✭darragh666

I assume the secret will be that Liz is pregnant.

Hoping that the delay will have given them the time to improve in quality. Last few seasons have not been as strong.

Hasn't she been on an adoptions waiting list for a few seasons? Or are they gonna abort that idea like they did in Curb?

Was looking for this thread, got more laughs out of the season opener than all of the previous season tbh.

Zero laughs leaving me with very little interest in 30 rock at the moment.

Last season had it's moments but in general I think it's struggling to maintain a high enough quality.

I would be happy to see it go at the end of this season.

It's hard to see where it all went wrong. Maybe this show outstayed it's welcome or maybe it wasn't even that good to begin with - I remember a time when 30 rock was the freshest, funniest comedy on television. But maybe it relied too much on the Baldwin/Fey dynamic, and zany tv satires like MILF Island etc.

I haven't enjoyed this show for the last few seasons and really I should have stopped tuning in by now. But I keep waiting and hoping it will recapture a glimpse of its former glory - but it never quite manages it.

Oh well, can't win them all.

Liked this week's episode, great cameos and pretty funny when the idiots started protesting.

Agreed always good to see Kelsey Grammer and Denise Richards came out of nowhere.

Excellent episode, great return to form
    Hope she lasts

I laughd when Tracy mentioned the trouble he had after he offended stubborn people. I thought it was a great episode.

I did a "spit take" at one point in this episode. I'm not sure what it was, possibly the above mentioned joke about the stubborn people. :D

Really enjoyed the double bill this week - felt like something of a return to form. Maybe it was just the return of
    Will Arnett
but it felt like old times again. Sure, we've seen these jokes before - (
Jack disapproves of liz's boyfriend! Liz's boyfriend wins jack over by making her happy! Kenneth is zany! Jenna and Liz are a modern day odd couple!
    - but these were good strong episodes.

It makes me sad to think of how screwed this show will be when
    Baldwin leaves
    - if Fey is smart she'll wrap it up rather than let it drag on.

Didn't he renew his contract on the hush hush recently?

Missed that but some sites do seem to support that - excellent news as this show would really suffer without him imo.

I'm pretty sure that either Fey or Baldwin said next year will be the show's final year.

And it should be. I've been enjoying it but I have a feeling its about to run its course.
Really enjoyed the double bill but Kenneth is getting tired for me.

The real problem is that it never really had a course, it's strange for a show with such good jokes is such a mess with plots and characters. Any of the stories that actually deal with running a sketch-show are boring, so it just becomes a bunch of wacky people doing wacky stuff - still watchable, but nothing ever really goes anywhere.

    Nice double episode again,
more jenna/tracy time and I'll be very happy
Hazel Whasihername is quite funny also
    Liking s06 so far

Yep.. normally despite Kristen Schaal but she's quite good in this!

She makes a nice change from Kenneth.

Thought it started well but petered out a little.

Episode 8 was hilarious. Best 30 Rock episode in ages, I haven't actually lol'd that much at 30 Rock in a few seasons.

Buscemi was fantastic, especially when he went undercover at the school!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

Such a great episode, havent enjoyed an episode as much in ages
Have to rewatch and missed some of the one liners
The split second cape/normalising lots of good uns
3 Bucks, 2 bags, 1 meeeeeeeee, excellent episode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Episode 10 was amazing. Easily the best 30 rock episode of the season.

I'm not one to be easily offended but did anyone else think they were pushing it a bit with the Irish stuff?

Considering that just a couple of weeks ago they did an episode devoted to a fictional leap-day holiday.. no.

    Who would that offend exactly?

I thought it was pretty funny. Especially the "wearing orange, in favour of william of orange who...invented the orange" bit! whole thing as quite funny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

Not a poor episode but it wasn't great either

I don't see how you could be offended by the episode. It was titled St. Patrick's Day afterall

Megan is a popular Irish name?

laughs were few and far between, when dennis duffy is the funniest thing about the episode it's not a great sign.

    But...

There have been worse episodes ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Not a good episode at all IMO. Especially after a few cracking eps recently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

I thought that Liz wearing Orange was a bit much tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Double episode this week, second was better than the first but both were ok.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Skinfull

    Double episode? Was it?

Seems I hit the torrents too early and only one was there this morning. Thanks for that!

I enjoyed those episodes. This season is much stronger than the last. Some good jokes this week. Kenneth cursing the sound guys made me laugh for example.

thought ep14 was very good, weird al bits aside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 226 ✭✭sillo

Weird Al bookend bit possibly the worst bookend of anything ever.

Second episode was much better than the first. Feels like theyre having a bit more fun this season.

the overwhelming amount of Baldwins in this episode actually worked in its favour! Jack plus his brother Billy Jack was comedy gold. Loved it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

Episode 16, very good- some good lines

Judging is for god and his angels

Dr. Spaceman: So, if you do have an extreme reaction, please try to get it on video for my nephew's funny website

Jenna: You know what they say boys. If you can't stand the heat, get off of Mickey Rourke's sex grill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

30 Rock has really been back on its game in the past bunch of episodes.

Why are you kissing the dummy??

    I'm submitting to the alpha!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,903 ✭✭✭Hande hoche!

Good episode. Laughed my head off at Mickey Rourke's gift and the gay porno bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,776 ✭✭✭youngblood

Jenna running through window, Kanye west/spelling bee/gay porno/kouchtown adverts

    Excellent episode
