*Chicago's own WWE Champion CM Punk comes out to a huge pop! Punk celebrates with his hometown crowd. They chant Punk's name loudly. Punk tells the fans that they are the reason he wakes up and wrestles every day, every week, 24/7. Punk also continues to bash Raw Interim GM John Laurinaitis, calling him "Snoozefest 101." Punk says Laurinaitis should be fired as Raw's General Manager for being too boring.

Punk says he needs a challenger for his WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble PPV in 4 weeks. Laurinaitis comes out to deafening boos. He tells Punk that he appreciates the insults, because it means Punk's title reign will be in even more danger now. Laurinaitis announces a Triple Threat Main Event tonight to determine Punk's opponent at the Royal Rumble. He says the competitors will be The Miz (boos), Kane (mixed reaction), and John Cena (boos)!

Punk sarcastically asks Laurinaitis to quit his job, and do something he looks fit for, like a pilot (the crowd eats this up). Laurinaitis asks Punk to start respecting him, because he is on the hot seat.


*Cryptic new promo for next week's 1/2/12 Raw. It shows the little boy talking to himself: "I need no help, as the prophet has left. I am on my own now! Next week will be the End of the World as you know it, and it will NEVER be the same, Again!" It ends with the screen message: C0MiNG*


*Match 1: Zack Ryder defeats Dolph Ziggler to retain the United States Championship with the Ruff Ryder in a solid opening contest.


*John Cena is interviewed backstage. He talks about Kane, saying he has his sights on the Big Red Monster, but the ultimate goal is to become the #1 Contender!


Match #2: Alberto Del Rio defeats Santino Marella with the Armbar in a squash match. Afterwards, Del Rio gets on the mic and demands respect from the Chicago crowd. They boo him relentlessly, chanting "you suck!" Del Rio walks away angry.


We are shown Beth Phoenix walking to the ring for her match.


*Match #3: Beth Phoenix (w/Natalya) defeats Alicia Fox in a Non-Title Match with the Glam Slam. After the match, Beth continues to attack Alicia until Eve comes to the rescue. Eve attacks Natalya and Beth, forcing them to leave. The crowd was rooting for Beth the whole match.


*CM Punk is in his locker room, taping his wrists. The Miz comes in and proclaims himself as "The man who beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship." Miz and Punk argue back in forth, prompting Laurinaitis to walk in Punk's locker room. Laurinaitis tells Punk he has a match next, against someone he handpicked. Punk smirks and leaves the room, leaving Laurinaitis smiling.


*Match #4: CM Punk defeats Brodus Clay by disqualification. Clay finally returned to WWE Television, debuting against the Chicago-Made superstar. Clay dominated most of the match, prompting a Punk comeback. Clay attacked Punk with a chair, drawing a DQ. Clay attacked Punk after the match, before security came down and took him to the back. Clay got booed out of the building in this match.


The new cryptic promo aired on commercial, once again.


*Match #5: Evan Bourne (w/Kofi Kingston) defeated Primo (w/Epico & Rosa Mendes) with a Shooting Star Press (Air Bourne).


Alberto Del Rio is interviewed backstage and he is still furious from earlier. He promises to win the Royal Rumble, and tells the people that you will see a "new and improved Alberto Del Rio" in 2012.


*We come back from commercial, and the titantron screen flickers. The lights in the arena go out as "Taker" chants arise. Smoke comes from the stage, and the titantron screen flashes the message: "IT BEGINS nXt WEEK!" The crowd goes crazy, as we go to backstage.*


David Otunga and John Laurinaitis are backstage discussing something as our main event is next!


*The Miz defeated John Cena and Kane in a Triple Threat Match to become CM Punk's opponent for the Royal Rumble. During the match, Kane started brutally attacking Cena, choking him with wires and chokeslamming him through the announce table, and then left the arena, leaving the match. The Miz and Cena then fought on, with Cena struggling to compete due to Kane's attack. The Miz then eventually hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

*After the match, Kane came back to the ring with a John Cena "Rise Above Hate" t-shirt, attacking Cena once more and throwing him into the barricade wall outside. Kane then choked Cena with the shirt, throwing him into the turnbuckle and steel steps. Kane then put Cena inside the ring, and gave him the Tombstone Piledriver, leaving Cena's shirt on top of his motionless body to end the show.*

Tonight's Monday Night Raw taping in Chicago, the hometown of WWE champion CM Punk, is officially sold out.
Scheduled for tonight's Raw:

*Punk's first appearance in Chicago since becoming WWE champion.

*The final mystery video before next week's reveal.

*What's next between John Cena and Kane?

*Smackdown and Raw talents will appear

Defo has to be directed towards Y2J......have that notion somethin else will happen before the end of the show though, that trailer was on very early!

Thanks peeps! Sounds alright. Punk thing could be interesting, doubt he'll go as far Laurinaitis but how it ends could be interesting. Matches should be good at the very least.
Looking forward to the Kane bit mostly.

Kane already attacked Cena with Henry watching twice. Could happen again tonight with him attacking Punk to support Henry - maybe they're in cahoots.

So many possibilities hopefully they've come up with something good.
