    Team News:

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has returned to training after an ankle infection but this game may come too soon.
jay Spearing returns from suspension and the Reds have no new injury concerns after the draw with Wigan.

Blackburn's defensive worries have grown with goalkeeper Paul Robinson's tearing a calf muscle although he is hoping to play through the pain. Scott Dann, Ryan Nelsen, Martin Olsson and Gael Givet are already out.

    FACTS:
    • Liverpool have conceded just 13 goals this season, the lowest tally in the league. They have kept clean sheets in their last three matches.
    • But the Reds have failed to score in five Premier League matches this season.
    • Liverpool have lost just one of their last 12 in the league.
    • Bottom-placed Blackburn have lost four of their last five Premier League games, including the last three. They have never lost four in a row under Steve Kean.
    • In the history of the Premier League, only one team has been bottom at Christmas and avoided relegation - that was West Brom in 2004-2005.
Blackburn haven't won away from home this season.
    • Liverpool are unbeaten in their last eight matches at Anfield but have drawn four of the last five
    • Blackburn have now gone 20 league games without keeping a clean sheet and have conceded 42 goals in that run
    • Despite still not having assisted a goal for the club, Stewart Downing has provided more crosses than any other Liverpool player this campaign

If any team has the stuff to hold Blackburn to a draw, it's plucky old Liverpool F.C
    CMON!

The Yak is well and truly fed today, therefore he will score tomorrow in a 1-0 win.

They've conceded 38 goals so far this season, surely even we can put 1 or 2 past them!

Depressingly, on the other side of things, they've scored 4 more than 'pool...

Rovers to win by one or least get a draw, we are the worst team in the league but I would be expecting some sort of reaction from the blackburn players after all the media attention from the Bolton game and the crowds reaction to Kean and the result. Blackburn are away which will suit them and there will be pressure on the pool to be a team who are bottom of the league. But Liverpool ain't all that.

Liverpool to win, and comfortably at that. They'll finally put the ball in the net a few times against this Blackburn side.

    3-0.

I am really hoping we put out an attacking line up and win by at least 3 goals. We have had so much bad/unlucky finishing that sooner rather than later things will come good for us, why not tomorrow? A bag full of goals and another clean sheet please- or just 3 points in any format!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,338 ✭✭✭yesno1234

Expect a 3-0 win tomorrow, Carrol, Suarez and Henderson scoring :D Realistically though if thing's go our way (i.e the woodwork f*cks off) then I could see us running up the huge win we've been threatening all season. I'll settle for a scrappy 3 points though.

Edit: Any channel's showing this at all?

We've scored a paltry 20, they've scored 24. Everyone else in the top 6 has scored at least 12 more than 'pool. Man City, after only 17 games, have scored 33 more goals than us! (and only conceded 2 more!)

Indeed, the bottom 2 in the league have outscored us thus far.

On the bright side, the defensive side of things is obviously pretty badass to have us still in contention for a champions league place with that sort of awful offensive record.

They've sorted out the back, hopefully now they can sort out further up the field.

Well it can't be worse than losing 4-3 anyway.

Hope we aren't as headless as the last game but that we go for it from the start and get an early goal.

Those statistics are shocking. Truly shocking. Its absolutely amazing that we have scored so few goals considering the money spent in attacking areas. How many goals per million spent I wonder...

Once that new signing Kunty Van Wudwurk doesn't play for Blackburn I can see a Liverpool win .

Sooner or later someone is going to be on the end of a Liverpool hammering ... form would suggest Blackburn could be the team to get spanked, so why do I have horrible score draw feeling about this game

Liveonlinefooty is the best if you can sign up or else try myp2p.eu.

I'm going for at least a 3 goal win today. Bellamy, suarez and carroll.

An early goal would set us up nicely for a comfortable win!

Don't know what to make of this game. We're on a hiding to nothing here. Should beat them but we should have beaten some of the other bad teams we played at home this season....Norwich, Sunderland, City, Utd!

Was hoping to get it for the United match.

I'd bite your hand off for a 1-0 right now. I would imagine Spearing will come back in?. Will warm up for this by watching the Chelsea game, hopefully Fulham can perform better than they did v United and keep us in the hunt for 4th.

Gerrard on the bench I see.

    Liverpool Line Up:

Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Henderson, Adam, Downing, Maxi, Carroll, Suarez.

Subs: Gerrard, Kuyt, Carragher, Doni, Shelvey, Kelly, Bellamy.

Looks like a 442 with Maxi and Downing out wide

I've a feeling we will only see him if winning 2 nil and game is comfortable, and even then only for a few minutes. Love to be wrong tho.
