Why don't you just disable hyper launch for mame and use the default keys?

Can anyone tell me what the most user friendly Front End for mame is?

Trying to get that roadblasters game going, but the bleeding steering locks to the left,
as it uses one of those optical wheel thingies. I want to be able to play it on a D-pad.

Is there any frontend with a "Centre" wheel option?

    Cheers!

Wouldn't that be in the games calibration controls? Usually something like F2 when the game is running?

Been a while since I used mame, just using the raw binaries for now.

It was the Tab Key in the end, then went into Analog controls, and turned the sensitivity down as low as possible!

I think I need to install MameUI again.

Hi all, was hoping to post a (semi) relevant question here instead of creating a new thread, hope that's ok.

I'm building my second name cab at the moment, a bartop using hyperspin running mame, fusion, and zsnes, and I may add in project 64 later if I'm in the mood. My keyboard encoder is a minipac.

I'm looking for a way to display a graphic, or info list on activation of a shifted function of the minipac, either via an on screen display in the frontend, or through another program. The idea is to give a user an on screen diagram, info list, or jpeg of all the shifted keys available on the panel once this particular key is pressed, so that there's no need to memorise them all. It's not something essential, but it'd be a nice touch if I could pull it off, versus something clunky like displaying the shifted keys on a printed card somewhere or something.

I'm fairly ok with configuring the emulators and interface etc, I'm planning to do a custom mapping of the buttons, so before I start I was wondering if anybody knew of a way this could be done, maybe by using autohotkey, a scripting option in the frontend, or some other useful utility.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Closest thing I know of is cpwizard which will allow you to show the controls of a game before launch and also on pause
