    Hey guys,
Just wondering has anyone here had success in getting an app onto the marketplace?

If so, what sort of programming skills do you need?

Also, would it be possible for someone to post what's considered the best beginner's guide to it?

Costs ya a few euros just to get it on market. It depends on what ya wanna make to be honest.

For a total beginner with no programming experience, you might as well give the Google App Inventor a try.

If you actually want to learn to program from the ground up, start with basic Java (there's hundreds of books and tutorials out there). Once you've at least got something of a handle on that and understand the main concepts, download Eclipse and the ADT plugin as detailed here, and read the Dev Guide. Note that this is the LONG way, getting a basic grounding in Java will take a few months

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

App Inventor is good for newbies. However, Google are dropping it Dec 31st and it's migrating to MIT. Won't be available until sometime in first quarter 2012. So you'll have to hold your whist. You could of course play with it on google when you're bored on crimbo day, just to get a feel for it.

There is a method of getting the app from there to the Android market, but it requires using Apptomarket. See http://amerkashi.wordpress.com/

Android developer fee is $25 per annum. Regardless of number of apps. Apple IOS is $100.

Does anyone know of a way to convert a .SWF or .FLA file to APK please? Other than using the Adobe Air (which doesn't work for me)?
