Mine is spelling and grammar. I don't particularly like it, bad grammar just really gets to me - like spelling 'compulsive' wrong and not capitalising OCD and leaving those redundant gaps between the letters. Gah!

My sister is so ocd, cannot put anything into dishwasher at her house as she will take them out and put in her way,all clothes on line have to be turned a certain way, every item she buys has to be taken out of original box and put into plastic containers which are labeled, I could go on and on.....

I have cancer. I've never been diagnosed, hell I'm not even sure what the symptoms are, but I have a vague idea and some of what I've read matches how I feel sometimes......

Oh wait....that only works with mental illness.

It's not funny. I have OCD and I have broken taps and door locks as well as other stuff in the past. It also ruins my life, particularly when I am leaving the house, or checking things before going to bed. It is a debilitating condition, and completely takes over your life to the point where it ruins your quality of life. So I'd like to see how funny you'd find it if you had it.

If its ok to make fun of OCD sufferers, may we move onto people with cancer next?

My girlfriend told me she was leaving me because of my OCD.
I insisted she closed the door six times on the way out.

I have to **** exactly ten times a day or else innocent people will die.

Yes! I can be obsessive about doing certain things.

I have an overwhelming urge to check all appliences are switched off and unplugged before I leave the house. Certain things more so than others. For example I have to check my hair straightner is unplugged 15 times before I leave the house. I could just leave the room and turn around and go straight back in to check again. Sometimes I am just about to get into the car to leave and I just can't stop myself from running back inside to check things again.

I can only use cooking and eating utensils I have washed myself with my own washing up brush. I have to re-wsh everything someone else has washed before I use it myself. I just couldn't force myself to eat otherwise because I'd feel it was dirty.

I have a thing for even numbers as well. I can't watch telly or listen to music etc. unless the volume is on an even number.

There is other stuff as well as this but I'd be here all night if I was to explain it all! My family are convinced I have OCD but im not into self diagnosis!

We used to just say we were particular about something or other. Now it's a bloody disorder.

Oooh, I switch off the lights in my house before I go out.
Oh no, I obsessively look up and down the road before crossing.
Poor me, I am obsessive about keeping my keys in my right hand trouser pocket.

Surely this is the greatest crisis the world has ever seen.

how about switching the lights off 40 times before you go out and driving half way down the road turning around and having to do it again incase you done it only 39 times, having to wash your hands constantly having to bless yourself 10 times while driving when you see a magpie, making sure all the knives and forks are in the same direction in the drawer, clicking your fingers 10 times obsessing over even numbers ,slaming doors instead of doing it quietly.getting dressed in a certain order and if it does not feel rite then having to do it all again[that one is gone now but] indacating with your right hand when driving .;)

I always had to enter a room with my right foot first.

Sometimes I had to do a quick shuffle get my footing right before I entered the room if I hadn't being paying attention. My friends always thought I was just doing a little dance. I was too embarrassed to tell them the truth. Like a teenage boy doing a quick dance 10 times a day was any less embarrassing...

I have a very particular form of OCD, not going into detail since quite a few people on this forum know me IRL but it does have a major impact on your life.

I always have to have a shower standing up.
I always have to drive on the same side of the road.
I have to keep my underwear in my underwear drawer.

Seriously, if you just worded the thread differently it would be much better.
Like "What quirky habits have you got?" or "Have you any unusual compulsions?".
Ocd is an actual disorder - one that can be truly disabling - this is not what you are all referring to at all.

There is the disorder (which you seem to actually have), and then there is what the whole stupid world goes about thinking - that ocd is akin to being a Monica type person (Friends).

i would of thought that the fit better that way. what happens to you if you put the l in the r and r and the l ?
