I'll have to tailor my behaviour to suit the surroundings. Out will go setting fire to one's bivouac 'pon the termination of the weekend's revels, in will come looking down at the lower social orders and pretending to have always liked whatever dredged-up 70's and 80's heritage acts are ballasting the line-up. "Wow, The Thompson Twins, that'll be, like, sooooo interesting".

Isnt it like the biggest music festival in Europe? Is it cancelled cause the record company's won't do gigs in Europe anymore or something because of the economic situation in that there's **** all money?

    The Stone Roses.

I'm pretty sure it's mandatory for every skanger to have a copy of their two albums from birth.

Well Underworld are looking after the choons for the Olympics next year so i reckon that will put a dent in their gigging.

Once you've seen daft punk play once you've seen them all the times they've ever played, same with underworld

You're going to fertilise a female egg? Go you!

This will indeed have ramifications for EP - good if you're the festival organisers, I guess, bad if if you're looking to get away from buzzers and 18-year-old wreckheads.

Luckily, as has been mentioned, there are plenty of great small festivals that have sprung up over he last few years, which should fill the void just fine :)

I don't know if I get this...if it's supposed to be a play on "zygote," well that's the diploid cell that's formed when an egg and a sperm meet, and can't be considered an egg anymore.

    Sorry :(

Meanwhile, shares in tent manufacturers bombed on the market today.

Any little Oxegen scumbag who thinks he can now come to the Electric Picnic and ruin my weekend will end up with a slashed face and burned out tent.

I bring my daughter to EP. So far its all been good. The EP crowd has been ok for kids to be around, mostly. But this year, with all the Oxegen cnuts.....

I can't see scumbags wanting to go to the Electric Picnic with all the hipsters and old people with their 80's music.

It was an AH joke :D

I've only missed one year of EP. There's a small minority who act the bollox but it's no where near the behaviour I've seen at Oxegen. Once the line up of EP keeps the same general format, there shouldn't be that much of a change. It'll still be a great festival for families.

I think I might try the Body and Soul festival next year instead, I've heard it's great.

I was quoting you in part agreement. I'd never slash anyone or burn their property in front of my daughter.

I gave up on Oxegen years ago. EP has been good. Body and Soul is great, Someone mentioned No Place Like Dome. It's small but its on the way up. Also Knockanstockan. And there is one I played at in the Cork end of Waterford if anyone knows the name.

All great little festivals. And no knackers.

A lot of bands are worried about the Euro crashing, thus making their payday worthless. I would imagine it is not too easy to get bands signed up.

lol, that has nothing to do with it.

They sold a mere 50% of the tickets last year, which has everything to do with it.

That's what happens when you don't have a decent line up!

In fairness to Oxegen, last year it had most of the headliners that were playing the other big Festivals in Europe.
