Enriques gotta be up there, not sure who'd i'd pick as the best though.

Phil Jones wasn't cheap at £17m but he has impressed me so much and should represent fantastic long term value.

All good value in the Premier League:

Demba Ba (even though he cost a lot in agent fees), Cabaye, Michel Vorm, Yakubu, Seb Larsson.

I'd put in Parker instead of Larsson but they have all been good value

For the price Barça paid, Fabregas has been an absolute steal for them.

Ba for Newcastle is another great transfer.

Richard Naylor on a free from Leeds to Doncaster. He was a complete liability and our defence is bad enough as it is, but it's a hell of a lot better without him.

Phil Jones expensive but looking like a rock to build a new side around in years to come

Other than him Djemba Ba has been a very good signing for the toon .

    Mata or Aguero for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

Adebayor, Parker & Friedal have been 3 great signings as far as we are concerned.

Fabregas for Barcelona was also a fantastic buy.

2 worst signings by some distance have been Carroll and Torres.

    Suarez as well.

they cost the guts of 70million between them. surely you can come up with better signings!

Djemba Ba in terms of value for money has to be up there. Scott Parker also has been great for Spurs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Can players costing £15m + really be considered for these sort of ''accolades''? You spend that sort of money on a player and you damn sure want him to produce the goods.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Vorm for Swansea has been excellent. Think he cost around 1.5 million which is exceptional value.

Demba Ba has been an outstanding signing for us this season.

Suarez imo or vorm , will be one of the best keepers in the league in a few years.

    Suarez followed by Enrique

Of course there's been far better value signings, but in terms of quality and performances alone? I don't think so. Besides, £70m for City & Chelsea is just spare change really. Ba and Parker have definitely been great signings though, I'll agree with that.

Chris Smalling for me. Class act.

except that transfer was done in early 2010!

Vorm and Ba should be up there along with Cabaye. Awesome signings.

Jones hasbeen fantastic. I would say for reported 30 Million Fabregas is a steal.

Edit: Smalling was done last year.

    Yeah you're right.
Thought he arrived in January for some reason.

Vorm. He's been a beast for Swansea, and will be the reason they stay up.

£23m, 4 goals in over 4 months when he first signed and 5 goals this season. (Premier League).

    There's been far better.

Vorm for me with Mikel Arteta a close second. When did Newcastle sign Demba Ba? He would have to be up there too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,602 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

    Ba and Cabaye.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,398 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Manchester United managing to offload Wes Brown on Sunderland.

    Scott Parker for me.

Value isn't the only criterion. Mata is a great shout. He'll be unplayable in 2 years' time - Chelsea's David Silva.

If you want to talk about value, Vorm stands out, and Blaise Matudi to PSG has to be up there if we're look on the continent.

Also I think Liverpool getting Bellamy on a free from another team challenging for top 4 is some piece of business.

Best transfer of the year - Andy Carroll for £35 million.

Mike Ashley played a fúcking blinder there, absolutely no denying it.

gonna throw bellamy into the hat. Been very consistent in the games hes played and getting him on a free was a bargain !

Daryl Horgan from Sligo to Cork.

Scored 7 goals on his loan spell propelling us the the league title.

Now signed permanent for a small fee + add ons.

Andrea Pirlo from Milan to Juve.

Free transfer and playing as well as he ever has.

    shane long &
seb larsson have been decent signings for their respective sides.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Best freebie would have to be Ba or Bellamy I think, best cheap/mid range buy Scott Parker, best expensive buy probably Sergio Aguero

This thread is effectively "My Clubs Best Signing"

Anyway, Fabregas and Ba have it between them tbh.

Ya was excellent bit of business for us.

I also point Cesc and Pirlo.

    In England I go Jones

This seens to be about fans of certain clubs just picking random names and then fello supporters agreeing.

Can people actually not agree with someone else?

Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba gotta be up there for sure.

Yakubu worth a mention as well, been scoring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,838 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Cabaye gets my vote - I think he has been an excellent signing for Newcastle, especially for the figures that have been quoted for the transfer. I reckon if Newcastle were looking to sell him in January (not that they would, or could) that they would get a vast profit on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,645 ✭✭✭Luap

Parker has been a very good purchase for Spurs for 5 million.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,535 ✭✭✭joe123

Has to be Vorm,Enrique and Ba.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Fabregas at 30 million imo is an absolute and utter steal for already one of the best central midfielders in the world, and going to probably be the best, over the next 10 years of his career! Unreal deal for him.

In terms of cheaper deals, I think Enrique was a very good deal, also think Ba was a great signing.
