Manchester United hope to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League with a win at Queens Park Rangers this Sunday.

The Red Devils have not been beaten in the league since their 6-1 home hammering at the hands of Manchester City in October.

Since then, Sir Alex Ferguson's side have won all but one of their games, both home and away, with Newcastle the only side able to take points off the champions.

After Manchester City's defeat to Chelsea last week, Manchester United managed to close the gap at the top of the table to just two points.

Indeed, the Old Trafford outfit would move up to first position with a win this weekend, if Roberto Mancini's side lose at home to Arsenal.

And with Tottenham, Chelsea and the Gunners closing in on the top two, the Premier League title race could be wide open going into the New Year.

    Relegation concerns

For QPR, they have relegation concerns to dismiss and have to improve on their form which has seen just two wins in the last 10 games.

Their only home win this season came against United's title rivals Chelsea, who were reduced to nine men on that particular occasion.

Such is the competitiveness of the Premier League this term, Neil Warnock's side could drop four places with a defeat this weekend, while a win could also lift them four places and back into the top half of the table.

It is a difficult festive fixture list for the Hoops, who also face Arsenal on New Year's Eve after meetings with Sunderland and Swansea City.

Sir Alex Ferguson has often pointed to his optimism over how his side will cope in the second half of the season and they have a winnable fixture list for the remainder of 2011.

13th-placed QPR are the highest placed team they face in the next two weeks, with Fulham, Wigan and Blackburn also on the agenda.

    Team news

Darren Fletcher has become the latest player added to Manchester United's absentee list, after it was confirmed that the midfielder is taking an extensive break due to suffering from ulcerative colitis.

However, it was also confirmed that Dimitar Berbatov is available for the game at Loftus Road and will therefore provide extra attacking options.

Long term injury-victims including Tom Cleverley, Nemanja Vidic, Javier Hernandez, Anderson and Michael Owen continue to miss out.

Anton Ferdinand is a doubt for Sunday's clash, as the defender limped off in QPR's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

Matt Connolly and DJ Campbell could both feature after being involved for the reserves in midweek.

    Possible Starting XIs:

QPR: Cerny, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Young, Traore, Wright-Phillips, Barton, Faurlin, Smith, Bothroyd, Mackie.

Manchester United: De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Jones, Carrick, Nani, Rooney, Welbeck.

IMO the team pretty much picks itself....
    De Gea
    Smalling Rio Evans Evra
    Valencia Jones Carrick Nani
    Welbeck Rooney

The only thing that might be different is Young in for Valencia. I'd like to see Morrison or Pogba get a run out too.

Must win game, but then they are all at this stage.

Can't see anything but a handy United win here, it will also put the pressure on City ahead of the Arsenal match.

The fact I have to get up at 7am my time to watch this means we better win!

Also, I'll need a link so if a few are posted before I wake up that'd be appreciated! :D

There'll be nothing handy at QPR. Theyre not a shower of mugs.Didnt they beat Chelsea recently?

Yeah, I wouldn't say they were overly impressive in that game though. Chelsea were down to 9 men for around an hour and only lost 1-0. They probably deserved a point out of the game tbh.

They gave City a scare but lost 2-3.(after a CL away game midweek for City though)

All in all United should win relatively comfortably if they turn up and perform.

Great to have Hernandez back on bench, didn't expect to see him so soon.

Thats a mighty big IF in your last sentance tho, given how hot and cold Man U have been since the Arsenal win.

Given our recent run of 1-0 wins this is the most likely result, just hope its in favour of the red devils.

Oh is joey barton gonna play ? After all he was telling the world Utd wanted to sign him during the summer

3 wingers on the bench of which 2 can play centrally surely to f##k pogs should have got a place on the bench ahead of park

QPR team (vs Man United): Cerny; Young, Gabbidon, Connolly, Traore; Barton, Faurlin, Mackie, Wright-Phillips; Helguson, Bothroyd

Oh I know there are no guarantees! There rarely is away from home in the PL!

Why on earth is this on at such an hour? Something to do with Spurs at home? or just SKY?

    United to win 5-0

Delighted to see Chico on the bench.....

The lack of defensive cover these days worries me however... I guess Jones can always revert back and Giggs can cover CM.

I love the way Fergie clapped and then just looked at his watch, too early to start the whistling for full time? :D

I can see Rooney getting a decent number of goals in the next couple of weeks, seeing as he usually scores in bursts. Hopefully he's not done today either.
