I am tempted to go with Argos so I can get the property warranty in case it fooks up, plus new and shiny is always best.

But thanks for the heads up, will check done deal now.

The fact that donedeal and other sales sites are full of them is proof of what a miserable way it is to spend any time. People sell them 'cos they give up on them after a few weeks. You'd get better value for money and just as much stimulation walking up and down the stairs.

    This is true.
If your still going to get one OP I would recommend getting on thats good and sturdy, you don't want to feel like your going to go through it or that it fall over when you start to run. This can be hard to judge from Argus but the weight will give a rough idea.
Also I would consider size an important factor too, you don't want it too big so it will take up half your room or too small so that you don't fall off.
    Hope this helps.

My mum likes to go for walks. The weather is miserable for large portions of the year, so let her fire ahead.

I'm thinking you should check out what NordicTrack has to offer. I have the X5i Incline Trainer and I love it. It's incline so it helps get you really fit.

I actually bought the roger black gold in may . I have ran 5 to 10km Every day 6 days a week on it since may and it has been absolutely trouble free.i sold it the weekend and bought the Nordic track t18. Only reason being the Rodger black only goes to 14kmph and that is no longer quick enough for me.the only other niggle with them is the vertical stalk up the handle bars is very loose and is noisy while running

I bought the Roger Black treadmill in Argos last January with the best of intentions....I run a couple of half-marathons every year and play a lot of sport (tennis, racquetball, badminton) but thought I would keep up my fitness levels when the weather is bad (I'm no glutton for punishment). I have used the treadmill 4 times since last January.....I agree that the idea of them is always better than the reality. I should have listened to MY mother who advised against it - she bought a very expensive one and my late father called it the Handbag Holder because that's what it became.

On another separate note, anyone any advice for progressing the healing after breaking my ankle? I was in a cast for six weeks and am screaming for want of exercise. Still using crutches and doing some flexibility exercises but physiotherapist warns me not to rush things...

Get some Serrapeptase, Its an amazing enzyme first found in silk worms. Targets dead tissue and breaks it down. Very good anti-inflammatory properties. Helps with scar tissue and healing after surgery, has no known side affects.
