I wondered what people here who are well versed in diet think of the so called cholesterol con

Doc said my cholesterols is a bit high, the book argues that is of no consequence. I have changed my diet to low fat and would appreciate any feedback to know if I am right

What exactly do you mean low fat? Low fat refined foods or low fat whole foods.

Regarding cholesterol or any other medical condition... being educated is only half the battle listening to experts is also important. You just gotta make sure your expert is in fact an expert!

Listen to your doc or find a new one, reduce your cholesterol with a stressfree, healthy lifestyle and diet of whole food. Don't do the opposite of what he says and lash into the sat fats and live on fryups... or even don't follow it blindly so you are unhappy with your diet... but rather find a balance between what he suggests to you and what your outlook is (if you follow or believe that link you posted).

Find out what your LDL small particle cholesterol level is and dont worry so much about the overall figure

Using a low fat approach would NOT be a good idea in general

"The idea that too much animal fat and high cholesterol are dangerous to your heart and vessels is nothing but a myth." http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm Modern studies fail to prove that saturated fat cause heart disease. Why people still believe this is beyond me.

Statin drug makers have much to do with it
