Thanks Guys. amazing when its all collaborated, a few bad runs don't seem important anymore!!! They are all part of the process.

    Update!!

So 5 weeks no running (but who's counting. . .my OH & kids are!!:eek:) seemingly I'm grumpy when not running!!!

Anyhoo the week following the last Ostepoath appointment(25/01) i had a great week:D
    Walked (at slower pace)
    26/01 - 2.1m in 33.24
    27/01 - 2.1m in 32.11
    28/01 - 2.0m in 31.31
    29/01 - 2.1m in 32.36
    30/01 - 2.1m in 31.36
    31/01 - Rest

01/02 - 3.20 m in 44.20 checking if longer brought on pain - no it didnt
    02/02 - 3.21m in 42.01 incl 3 x 30, 3 x 60 jog - no pain until the following day
    03/02 - 2.20 in 32.42
    04/02 - 3.24 in 43.27 incl 3 x 30, 3 x 60 & 1 x 30 sec jog - no pain
05/02 - 2.50 in 37.59 tiniest bit of pain at end.

no exercise Tue - thur due to pain

I have walked in 5 different locations with different people to keep the monotony out of it!!:D

During this time i have been doing 2 stets of prescribed exercises. Monday night while doing the prescribed lunges, something happened and instantly I was in pain. It hasn't lifted yet.

Osteopath appointment last night confirmed that i have a very slight tear in my hip flexor and the hip is in shreds but the good news is the Pelvis is back in correct position so onwards with Rehab!!!

He has been working on my adductor longus at every appointment as well as the glutes and quads and these are much improved with the treatment being less painful each time.

Last night, he got a new muscle to work on and torture me with and that's the psoas, which is very tight but its all connected to the hip issue so no new problems:o:o

2 new exercise to do (no more lunges for the moment:eek:), no running, walking still allowed and no explosive movements!!:eek:
Driving is very uncomfortable so am limiting that as much as i can!!!

So all is not lost and i look forward to week on week improvements.
Sure as i said to Coach walking is "almost" recovery running!!!

Another week of pain and frustration and an Osteopath scratching his head. The Osteopath and the Physical Therapist are both confused as to whats going on with me and why things are not improving. I've been told to get an MRI to try get to the bottom of it.

But finally, light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Yesterday, I went back for my 6 monthly checkup with Mike Davis, the orthotics guy, and within 5 mins of arriving and having the chat he had me sorted. Simply, the correction to my Pelvis last July has worked but now I'm over-correcting hence all the issues I've been having. He gave me a small lift to put in my right runner to even things out and said i would be sorted within the week!!!

And the amazing thing that when i put on my runners today to walk around in, all the pain which was getting back to unbearable levels simply disappeared.:D

Went for my usual walk and added in 6 x 60 sec running, off 5 mins recovery and the usual pain i get in the evening has not happened.

Now there is still some adductor pain and there are a few new aches but that is just the body re-aligning itself.

So over the next week I will slowly increase the running but will take it slowly until everything is pain free fully!!!

So I cant wait to get back on the roads again, however i have to try run on flat surfaces like footpaths or running track and keep off the roads, as the camber on the roads is not helping me at all.

    :D Horray!!:D

Its was only while doing my review, that i noticed that I had a few more issues than i realised, but they were all related to the same thing..the hip/pelvis weakness!! Here's hoping its the last time..

    That's for sure!!;);)

So when i got home from a football match this morning there was a slight pain in the right leg and i was a bit dismayed until I discovered that the new insole had slipped forwarded under my orthotic while i was standing on a hill, so repositioned it and pain disappeared.

Decided that seeing as i was already wet & cold I'd head out for my walk and get it over with!!

Had planned to follow yesterdays plan of 5 mins walk, 60 secs run, repeat etc until I got home, but decided after the 60 secs to keep the running going and see if there was any issue. Ran for a mile and then decided to be sensible as id just run up the hill and i was fairly stuffed!!! lost fitness I wondered !!!!
Anyway walked another 5 mins and then ran a mile again and then resisted the urge to finish the last half mile running and walked home.
Very happy that there was no issue directly after the run or since, until i did some hoovering and got a pain in my left hip!!!!:eek: so im giving up the hoovering for at least 6 weeks!!!:D:D

    Total 3.23m in 37.46 @ 11.41

    Catch up

    Tuesday 20th February
Headed out at lunchtime in work and did the 5 min warm up walk and then into a gently jog. Did a mile but wanted to increase the distance on the previous days 1m before stopping so did 1.3m @ 9.59 and was tempted to keep going but again common sense won out so walked for 3 mins instead of the 5 from Sunday and then ran another mile @ 9.56, an finished off walking for just short of a half mile to bring the total up to 3.34m with 2.3m running

    Total 3.34m @ 11.11 (2.3m run)

    Wednesday 21st February

The usual route up the back road at home today for this, walked 5m and then ran 1.7m @ 9.50 before taking 2 min walk break and then ran the 1m @ 9.57 home with cd walk for four minutes near the house.

    Total 3.50 @ 10.50 (2.7m run)

the pain in my leg had been building gradually since Monday and i was keeping an eye on it, decided to rest Thursday to see if it made any difference but the next 2 days were no better with Friday being very bad resulting in me making GP appointment for MRI and taking pain killers to relieve some of the symptons on Friday. Saturday there was some improvement and Sunday it was much improved.

    Sunday 25th February
Younglad was playing a Challenge soccer match in a quite country area so headed off for a walk while they were warming up after about 60 seconds i decided feck it leg felt good so i run for a bit. Ran for 3.21m @ 9.40 and was delighted with myself. No issue and the leg stayed good all day.

    Total 3.21m @ 9.40

    Monday 26th February
Leg was again good and youngest was home sick from school so before OH headed off to work i headed out for a quick run. Went a different loop and forget that the hill is quite steep but enjoyed it all the same. Slight niggly warning from the leg coming in the last mile but not too bad. Bitterly cold out but I was well wrapped up.

    Total 3.36m @ 9.46

    Tuesday 27th Feb

Spotted Murph out for his run int he Park as i was heading for the school pickup and was jealous as he had gorgeous sunshine to run in. Got home and straight out the door as knew weather wasn't given good for rest of week and fancied getting another run in.
The snow was falling as i headed out and could have done with some sort of glasses as it was flying straight into my eyes and was hailstones & snow mixed but it soon changed to big fluffy flakes and then stopped as i turned for home. The hill at the start of mile two had me gasping like a 40 a day smoker but I was determined to keep going this time!!
Eventually got the breath back and ended up doing 4.55m running Woop Woop!!

    Total 4.55 @ 10.04

    Saturday 2nd MArch
Only other run last week was a treadmill run but leg again wasn't good so left it at 4.12m @ 9.50. Rested yesterday. Today not so good again!!

Went for a ramble on Saturday to see what the local roads were like and completely impassable, ended up in a neighbors field with the kids sledging down the hills.
Sunday and body was sore from trudging through the knee high snow and shovelling the snow to try get the OH van back into the driveway after supplies mission!!!

The Back road (my usual running route) is only being cleared this afternoon, poor neighbours stranded since last week!!!

Rescheduled GP visit not until Friday so will have to wait another week for the MRI referral.

Not good D:( , Sun & Monday i was very sore & Tuesday I was unable to stand upright and tablets( which i take sparingly) gave no respite. But I had a great nights sleep and this morning i was so much better.

Looking out at the beautiful sunshine I decided to go for a walk but put on my running gear jsut in case i wanted to do a little run. Ended up doing an easy 3m run and i am so much better since. Still a bit uncomfortable but nothing like last few days.

I have swapped my Bohermeen half entry to 10k and hoping to make the start line and jog around. It will be a great chance to catch up with loads from these parts.:D

Headsup, there may be an issue with parking at Bohermeen as after the snow the fields planned for parking are very wet, so if you can carpool, do

Thanks D, it will just be a jog around, sure the leaders in the Half will probably pass me!!!

Went to the GP today, he recommended the MRI and also wants an xray on my hips (my younger sister had 3 hip operations before she turned 40 and he is a bit worried about where the pain is that he thinks its possible it could be to do with the hip directly. Had to admit to him that it gets so sore that i can't lie on it at night!! He just wants to rule everything out.

He went through the bloods i got done 2 weeks ago and everything is very good. I've been having a lot of tiredness over the last few weeks and hes blaming the pain and stress of not running as my iron is good, my ferritin, folate, B12 and hemoglobin are all good!! My cholesterol is not bad a 4.2 .:D

The good news is that he told me to get back running and run as much as i can as it will do me good!!
So after Sundays 10k trot I'm going to put a bit of structure back into my training and try build up a base again and take it from there!! I'll just try manage the pain a bit better and hopefully movement will help (will lack of movement isn't helping!!)

So after a bad Sund - Tuesday I went for a run on Wednesday and after it the pain was minimal, as it was yesterday but its building today so there's a bit of a pattern with a few good days followed by a few bad!!! Hope i get to the bottom of this soon for Sanity reasons!!

    Wednesday 7th March
Went out for a short run to try stretch the leg and kept it slow and easy. still plenty of snow around and after a short while the the sun was shining and the glare of the snow and the wet roads was unreal. I forgot my sunglasses so was in bits by the time i got home. I'm very sensitive to the light and cant believe i forgot my glasses!! there are nearly permanently stuck tot he top of my head so i have them when needed even on a cloudy day!!
    9.55, 9.58, 9.53, 9.42(.20)
    Total 3.2m in 31.44 @ 9.54.

Max HR hit the low 180s on this so shows how much fitness ive lost, but not worried as it will come back gradually......hopefully.
Lovely run and delighted that it eased out the pain.

    Thursday 8th March

Got home from work and the sun was shining so headed out with the intention of doing 5m. Woop Woop 5.33m later happy head got home telling everyong id just run 5m!!

kept the first miles slow and felt like i was keeping it all in check. I was over dressed and had to remove my buff off the ears and put it on my wrist after about half a mile. Lapped the watch by mistake just at the foot of the hill at start of mile 2. stats showing a progression run only for that. On my way back i decided to do a few pickups and did 2 X 20 seconds but then decided to go a bit faster to see if there was anything in the leg for the last bit.
    10.09, 9.42(.12) 10.16, 9.59, 9.34, 9.16, 8.48(.21)
    Total 5.33m in 52.13 @ 9.48.

beautiful Sprint day today but decided to rest and maybe do a short run tomorrow and then the 10k on Sunday.

See lots of you in Bohermeen :D
